Shot another video recently for another new song. Working on 2 new projects. I love when she gets on IG Live.

I'm very surprised she didn't mention Paula Abdul. Mya's My Love Is Like Whoa had Abdul vibes all over it! I always assumed Abdul must have been a big inspiration.

Well her and Paula look to have the same training. These other girls probably inspired her to be a little different?

These are Mya's dance influences. She lives for the old Hollywood era. As a child, she said it was Gregory Hines and his movie Tap that inspired her to tap dance. She once had a tap off with him as well. I do see similarities in her and Paula. They're both the epitome of true blue dancer's dancer.

She was on IG Live earlier asking for feedback on which male artist she should collaborate with for a “bedroom mix” of RFW. Her criteria was that it had to be someone she hadn’t worked with before and someone who can sing and dance; naturally, the choices boiled down to Chris Brown (although that might have her looking like R. Kelly since Chris is considerably yojnger), Usher (and she kept giggling at all the herpes jokes being thrown out there) or Trey Songz (who has “moves” but may not be able to handle actual choreography). She was very serious about reaching out to them so I hope something actually comes of it. CB has my vote.

Oooo I missed this IG Live. This sounds like a really great idea. My vote goes to Chris Brown. Despite his flaws, he would actually help Mya get back on the charts with his name alone attached to it. Ready For Whatever is way too good to let it not go anywhere and make some noise on the charts. My only concern is how would Kevin feel tho? Since him and Chris hate each other.
Usher would be my 2nd vote. Him and Mya have already done things together in the past. I know she wanted to work with him again on the dance tip and singing tip but with the herpes rumors she might wanna stay clear of him.
No comment on Trey.

Found the video for anyone interested in watching. I peeped Bryan Michael Cox in her comments in the beginning of the video.

The gospel song she played is beautiful! Can’t wait for it to be released.

RFW is a bop, and she looks amazing in the video. She hasn't aged at all.

Ready For Whatever is featured on Apple Music's Breaking R&B playlist. Hopefully Carl Chery of Apple Music's Hip Hop & R&B programming put it on the A-List eventually.

I seriously cannot get over how much I LOVE "Ready for Whatever"!!! She was on Instagram Live the other night and debuted a new gospel track that sounds like a winner as well.

The gospel song was probably more than likely recorded for her t.v. show. She did a few songs for it. She did a rendition of His Eye Is On The Sparrow as well. Hope she still releases it too.
Last time I checked Ready For Whatever was No. 64 on the iTunes R&B chart.

Last time I checked Ready For Whatever was No. 64 on the iTunes R&B chart. It’s called Return to God and it was beautiful; she didn’t mention the TV show but said she wanted to put the current version - which is the studio track with her stacked vocals as a choir (sounded heavenly) - out near Christmas time and then re-record it with a real choir and orchestra for the new album.

If so, I remember her saying that song was gonna be used in an emotional scene as well. She recorded quite a few songs while in Houston with cast members and solo. Either way I'm excited and can't wait to hear.

This is from her previous events posted on her website page. I believe Return to God was originally called Ready to Return. I could be wrong though. Might be two totally different songs.

Damn we were watching her Live at the same time! That’s exactly what she said. I seriously can’t get enough of “Ready for Whatever”—I wish this somehow would smash on Urban!
