This was the second single from her sophomore album, "A Girl Like Me." It was produced by Stargate and written by Ne-Yo. It peaked at #6 on the Hot 100, #2 at CHR/Pop, #2 in the UK, #7 at Rhythmic and #18 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart. The vocals were horrid, but this was such a strong song and it was unexpected coming from her. The video was directed by her frequent collaborator, Anthony Mandler.

This was the song that really turned me into a fan. It was a total shift from what she had released up to that point and I think it was the first time people really paid attention to her apart from bopping to her songs on the radio.
But looking back...man, the vocals on this are like nails on a chalkboard.

I've loved it since I first heard it, and it's aged much better than a lot of her other singles.

I like it, I don't love it.
She really needs to re-record it for her inevitable GH collection.

Still a huge fan of this one. Melodically it's gorgeous.

Didn't mind this at the time, but it's so bad. The lyrics are ridiculous, and she sounds awful.

I've always hated this, mainly for her vocal on it more than anything else. This is one of the worst vocals I've ever heard on a single, even worse than Thinking Of You.
This was really big in Europe.

I really loved the Tony Moran remix of this as the added effects and harmonies made the vocals sound better.

The lyrics are so corny and kinda exaggerated in this one. But still, Ri's voice makes this one.

Horrific. Those vocals. The cheesy over the top lyrics (Ne-Yo was doing the most back in those days). Her first two albums were beyond f**king basic. I pretty much loathed her until her third album.

She pays this dust on her tours now, deservingly, but I'd love an updated vocal on it. It's not a bad song, but her delivery back then kind of ruins it.
I still loved it for what it was. Like much of her earlier stuff, some of her newer tracks serve the same purpose with much better production and vocals so I don't really play it anymore.

She has truly never sounded worse on record (until "Higher," maybe...), and it's just a dumb fucking song to boot. Have always loathed.

One of my favorites from her never gets old. I wish she would re-record this. Her vocals would sound so much better.
