This was released as the fourth single from her album, "Good Girl Gone Bad." It was produced by Stargate, and was one of the pioneer tracks to push forward the dance music revival at mainstream radio in the US. It interpolated Michael Jackson's song, "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'". It peaked at #3 on the Hot 100, #4 in the UK, #3 at CHR/Pop and #6 at Rhythmic. The video was directed by Anthony Mandler.

I loved this since it flopped before rebounding to be a huge hit. It's still a total jam. The Jody den Broeder Big Room mix was great too. (The one on the remix album is actually Wideboys, even though it says it's Jody den Broeder).

More than likely my favorite Rihanna song ever. The vocal arrangement is killer and the music/production is perfect. Flawless video too.

Very interesting history, thank you for including that! I thought the art about it helping dance music's revival was especially cool. It seems Top 40 goes through different phases from what I have read about it. :)

Never listen to it anymore, but this was such an important song in terms of the dance revival that started in the US several years ago now.

It's never been a personal favorite of mine (still better than Disturbia though). I lived in Europe when this was out and I remember hearing it around from when the album first came out all the way until early 2009 probably.

This is my second favorite single from that era (behind "Umbrella"). I love how she used the MJ sample.

This hasn't aged all that well. I liked it then, think it's very bland now.

One of my favorite dance songs. The beat is very simple but effective for me, and she sounds so good on this!

I know this song, yet when I saw this thread, I forgot how it sounds like at first so I had to play some seconds of it just to be familiar with it again.

I don't really play it much anymore, and Rih has done much better since, but this was a favorite of mine at the time, and it's still a great track. One of the best uses of a sample in recent memory too.

This didn't go #1 on CHR? Now that's a crime.
