There was a country music-oriented episode of Cold Case several years ago that featured several songs by Tim McGraw (IIRC, one of them was "I Got Friends That Do").

I'll admit, I liked Cold Case. They had some great tunes in that song including a criminally under-rated version of Larry Bagby's "Counting My Lucky Stars". The episode had a duet, his solo version is great. m.youtube.com/watch?v=va4LKM0q6EA

"Buddy" - Willie Nelson (Parks and Recreation, Leslie and Ron and One Last Ride) Gosh, this one...I'm a major Parks & Rec fan and even though I'm not a Willie Nelson fan really, the fact the Ron Swanson loves the song makes me respect it. Also, the way it's used in the finale...just perfect.

Doesn't really count but Al Bundy once sang "North To Alaska" by Johnny Horton in one of the season 5 episodes of Married, With Children. :)

I've been slowly working my way through The Sopranos for the first time (better late than never am I right), and I heard this kickass Emmylou Harris tune called "Heaven Only Knows" in the first episode of the fifth season.

Heaven Only Knows was the final top 40 hit of Emmylou Harris' career in 1989. I'd like to thank you for reintroducing it to me. Heard it back then and love it now. Here's the chart where she placed in the top twenty: BILLBOARD TOP TWENTY FOR WEEK ENDING JULY 15, 1989: 1. In A Letter To You-Eddy Raven-Universal 2. Yup lol! It's funny, because I just got into the show this year, and I was surprised at some of the country songs that were either mentioned or just sung by Al in a moment to recall his glory days. There was a mention of Glen Campbell somewhere in the 2nd season, but I can't think of why lol.

Also, Trisha Yearwood's "XXXs And OOOs" was originally the theme song to a sitcom that never got picked up.
