I looked back and realized we've never covered the talented Steve Wariner. I still listen to him every now and then. I figured there are probably quite a few that are not necessarily familiar with some of his earlier work...if not use this list to help find some of his great songs!
Top: 1. The Weekend 2. Small Town Girl 3. Holes In the Floor of Heaven 4. Some Fools Never Learn 5. Life's Highway 6. What If I Said (w/ Anita Cochran) 7. You Can Dream of Me 8. Lynda 9. Where Did I Go Wrong 10. I'm Already Taken
Bottom: Two Teardrops Burnin' the Roadhouse Down

Love most of his stuff. Very underrated in my opinion.
TOP 1. What If I Said 2. Forget Me Not (obscure one, but well worth tracking down) 3. Two Teardrops 4. Katie Wants a Fast One 5. I Got Dreams 6. Kansas City Lights 7. Some Fools Never Learn 8. Small Town Girl 9. The Domino Theory 10. Burnin' the Roadhouse Down 11. Every Little Whisper 12. The Weekend 13. Been There 14. Lonely Women Make Good Lovers 15. Lynda 16. It Won't Be Over You 17. The Tips of My Fingers 18. Your Memory 19. All Roads Lead to You 20. Why Goodbye
BOTTOM 1. Holes in the Floor of Heaven (actually grown to like it a bit, but I'd still put it at the bottom) 2. I'm Already Taken 3. A Woman Loves

Regrettably, the only Steve Wariner songs I can recall offhand are Holes in the Floor of Heaven, Kansas City Lights, Small Town Girl, and The Weekend. I've been meaning to hear more of him forever.

Pretty much my situation regarding Steve as well. For some reason his songs never got to me when I was a kid (or at least most of them). I do really enjoy "Kansas City Lights" and "The Weekend". I also remember countless people calling WYRK to request "Holes In The Floor Of Heaven" - like every night. It's a little cheesy but it is a good song and understand why so many are touched by it.

I have a few of his albums and I've always like what I hear from him but I'm not familiar with enough of his singles to make a list. He's near the top of my list of artists I need to collect more from.

Is there anyone here who is well-versed in Wariner's discography that can recommend an album or two with which to start?

Is there anyone here who is well-versed in Wariner's discography that can recommend an album or two with which to start? I did mention a few greatest hits CDs of Steve Wariner late last year when I saluted his first #1, All Roads Lead To You. This is what I said: In 1999, a rerecording of I'm Already Taken finally became a big hit, peaking at #3. Atkins, responsible for bring Wariner to the national stage died in 2001. Wariner stayed at Capitol until 2002. After 26 years at four labels, Wariner started his own Selectone Records. So far, his last chart appearance came from that label, Snowfall On The Sand (#52 in 2003) and his last CD was released in 2013 called It Ain't All Bad. You can find All Roads Lead To You on two compilation CDs: 1. Super Hits-1998-a combination of RCA and Arista hits 2. Ultimate Collection-2000-his RCA, MCA, and Arista hits are represented here Wariner is set to turn 60 next week (Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas to you!). This is what the chart looked like back then:
