This was the first single from Janet's 10th album, "Discipline," released in 2008. It was produced by Rodney Jerkins. It peaked at #19 on the Hot 100, #29 at CHR/Pop, #26 at rhythmic and #39 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart. I thought this was pretty decent. I liked it more than anything on "20 Y.O." I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up as her last Hot 100 entry as a lead act.

It was a jam, and it should have been a huge hit.

Wasn't a fan when it first came out, grew to tolerate it, and I don't like it anymore. I thought it was a mistake to release something so pop-leaning when she hadn't had a pop hit in several years but managed her biggest Urban hit in years with the previous album.

I like it in small doses. I agree that it was too Pop and that "period" line was just gross.

Still love it! And those Moto Blanco house remixes were hot.

Live- it peaked at No. 19 on the Hot 100, spending two weeks inside the top 40.
Not one of my Damita favorites, but one of the better tracks from the last couple of albums.

I liked it for about a week and then got bored. She pretty much obliterated all the Urban/Urban AC ground she'd gained with her previous album there.

This was hot as fuck. I still love it as much as I did when it was released. It's my favorite song on the album. I remember it dropped out of nowhere in the December of 2007. This didn't deserve to be big; it deserved to be MASSIVE. In fact, this is the one song that always comes to mind when I think of songs that should've smashed but didn't. The video was... interesting lol. I remember watching Janet perform "Feedback" live while promoting the album and doing this very cool version of it... it had an industrial arrangement of sorts. Here's the remix with Ciara Oh and the period line was indeed gross.

This was a hot jam and compared well with Janet's best hits. It should've been much bigger than what it was.

Instantly loved this song. It's classic Janet. When she performed this on her #1s tour the crowd went WILD.

Yeah, this should have been a comeback hit for her. It's still hot, but it was especially hot when it was released. I just remember everything around it being such a non-event though, her record label really dropped the ball.
The video was such a mess, there were some really cool parts to it (that dance with the orbs at the end), but the execution was lacking.

But how many of these pop chicks started pulling their ponytails in videos and performances after this? *sigh*

Hot song.
I liked the video's concept and some of the scenes but it looked unfinished.

Janet & Feedback deserved SO MUCH BETTA.

I wish it had charted much higher. This definitely screams comeback! Easily one of the better singles post-All For You.

DO U LIKE MY STYLE>.....? - YES BITCH! This eats. Still sounds incredible to this day. One of her best singles in the lat 10 years. She definitely could've done better if pop radio wasn't being a bitch.

I remember that Feedback had a bit of a resurgence on the charts after Discipline came out. I was living in NYC at that time. Janet was having a cd-signing party at Best Buy. I waited for a friend outside. I should have went in and bought the album so I could have met her.

I didn't like this song at all when it dropped. I especially hated the autotune they did to her voice. Now I'm okay with it but it's never a standout for me even from Discipline. It was a hot dance joint in Asia though.

I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up as her last Hot 100 entry as a lead act. "No Sleeep" (2015, 5 months after this post) and "Made for Now" (2018) both charted afterwards! We stan a longevity queen.

I think this samples God Is In His Holy Temple from the Poltergeist II soundtrack
