Pretty big fall off from the last Kidz Bop release in January that moved 80k. Released too fast?

Kind of a boring week. Kendrick's 2nd week is meh. If "north of 100K" means 100-120K rather than 150K+, that likely rules out the notion that this week's sales total was significantly crippled by the weird release issues. It signals that 300-350K is just how he was going to open.

I was hoping he could pull closer to 200K as Hits did say north of 100K (which I'd assume closer to 200K), but this is definitely a lower end of 100K instead of "north".

I thought north of 100k would be 125k.
If he was going to be closer to 200k, HITS would have said 150k or 175k.

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6516768/kidz-bop-targeting-21st-top-10-albumKidz Bop Targeting 21st Top 10 Album on Billboard 200 ChartBy Keith Caulfield | March 27, 2015 4:35 PM EDT Those darn Kidz Bop Kids are at it again. The warbling troupe is aiming to debut in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 next week with Kidz Bop 28, the latest release in the ever-popular series. Industry forecasters suggest the album, which features kid-friendly covers of current pop hits, might move around 40,000 album equivalent units in the week ending March 29. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Billboard 200’s top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, April 1. If Kidz Bop 28 hits the top 10, it would mark the 21st top 10 album for the Kidz Bop franchise. Since 2005’s Kidz Bop 7, all but one of the numbered albums reached the top 10. (2010’s Kidz Bop 17 missed the region.) Kidz Bop 28 might start in the lower half of the top 10, while holding steady at No. 1 will likely be Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly. It should stay atop the list for a second week, with perhaps 125,000 units, following its chart-topping debut. After Kidz Bop 28, one more album seems like it will make a top 10 debut: Action Bronson’s Mr. Wonderful. It could launch with about 40,000 units.

Wonder if Madonna can stay in the Top 50 this week. I have my doubts. She's been hanging around the mid-50s on iTunes all week, which isn't many albums.

James Bay is doing more or less like George Ezra, only George took more time to climb on charts before releasing his album (on Uk the beginning of their careers is looking similar too)

NOt bad for Madonna compared to last week.. Her album debuted 3 weeks ago and she has 8k with 80% reporting... Hence the not bad compared to last week when she had an 80% drop. This week's drop is considerably smaller, so she may be able to ride it out a little longer, particuarly if Ghost Town gets any traction.

And didn't Kelly debut one week earlier? ugh, one of the most juvenile and obnoxious habits on Pulse is when overly-defensive stans randomly go after the artist in the avatar of whoever said something "negative" about their favorite act it isn't funny. it isn't clever. it isn't relevent (at least not to what spoil and Heartbeat were talking about, which was Madonna's sales trajectory thus far.)

Madonna stans are so puckered that her album is a flop. Get over it and just enjoy it if you're a Madonna fan. Lord knows nobody else is.

I just thought it was odd that M's position in the chart was being pointed out when Kelly's is in the same predicament. I'm not pressed or hating others, for calling it out. I mean this thread is for chart positions and discussions are fine, but I would never question Kelly's chart placement in such a way that it's a dig towards her "stardom"

I'm in love with the album, so not sure who you are talking to. She has been selling less and less with each album, so no surprise here. I'm not some 15 year old crying in the corner because she hasn't sold 250K in 2 weeks.

There have been quite a number of albums in recent times, by big-name acts, that have not burned up the sales charts. If you enjoy the music, carry on and continue to do so. And likewise if you don't.
I cannot at these Kidz Bop albums still selling upon release.
