This is a song from her album, "Stripped." It was produced by Linda Perry and written by Linda and Christina. It was about her tumultuous childhood, where she and her mother experienced physical abuse from her father. This could have come off extremely pretentious coming from her, but she gives a really sincere vocal. You can hear the despair in her voice. Good song.

This is one of my favorite songs from her. I wish that it had been a single with an epic cinematic video. It was drastically different from anything she had released at that time, but it would have been an iconic hit for. This could have come off extremely pretentious coming from her How? Nothing about experiencing domestic violence is pretentious. She was writing and singing about something that she went through.

I think Live Your Life meant that Christina could have used this song to be "showy" with her vocals, which is viewed as "pretentious" by some because she's putting the attention on herself as opposed to her music.

Yes, I would've loved for this and "Oh Mother," too, from BtB to have been released.

So sad and haunting. Christina Milian also made a similar song with a sad story about her dad on "It's About Time".

I always thought it was a bit eerie coming after "The Voice Within". Should've been reversed.
I love this song so much. She performed it live for the first time on her Storytellers special.
