This is not awesome at all, but frankly if it was just good it would be a surprise

It sounded promising when the opening piano came in, and then will.i.am came in... The drop is decent, but everything else is a big hell no.

No Fergie? IMHO, her presence is the only thing that made the group successful, so no to this.

LOL @ them trying without Fergie. She has become too big of a face for the group for them to really be successful without her. I guess anything's possible, but it's highly unlikely at this point without some sort of rebranding.

Irked at him saying "albums are a waste of time." Yeah honey, when your albums suck they are a waste of time.

Pulse's obsession with over-crediting everything with a vagina is hilarious. Whether you like it or not, it's will's leadership that mapped their success. As for this, it sounds ok I guess. Would need to hear the studio version. I agree that the drop is the best part, surprising for Guetta. Irked at him saying "albums are a waste of time." Yeah honey, when your albums suck they are a waste of time. And statements like this miss the point entirely.

Also, was she and were they? Do you mean The E.N.D. era where she wasn't downsized at all or The Beginning where she was prevalent in two of the three singles, with the biggest hit being the one she sang the hook in? Also, I would definitely argue downsizing is immensely different from getting rid of entirely.

Do you mean The E.N.D. era where she wasn't downsized at all or The Beginning where she was prevalent in two of the three singles, with the biggest hit being the one she sang the hook in? Also, I would definitely argue downsizing is immensely different from getting rid of entirely. When Boom Boom Pow came out people complained that it wasn't centered on Fergie enough. That all of their prior success was down to her and that if they didn't put her more in the spotlight, they'd fail commercially. Same with pretty much every single they put out subsequently aside from Meet Me Halfway, which ironically didn't do as well as people had hoped here. Both of their albums were criticized for that too here, and they still did fine, especially the first one. People still act like BEP is some kind of star vehicle for Fergie. The only time that was true was the MB period where a lot of their visual projection centered on her. Once her solo project was done, BEP was retooled to give progressively more shine and focus on will with Fergie as a side support. And they still found colossal success. Also, is she officially gone? There's pictures of them all together; if that's the case, I'd be surprised if the studio version doesn't include her in some way. Nah. To quote Prince, "Albums still matter." Once again. Missing the point. 100%. The retorsion to using another person's words rather than coming up with ones own just illustrates this further.

Well people complained about Boom Boom Pow because it was (and is) and atroucious song, no matter how big hit it was.
The truth is the start of this is promising till Will.i.am opened his mouth

This is totally bad. Only good thing in this is David Guetta, which I never thought I would say.

I just can't believe what they've become. will.i.am has drove this group into the ground with his need to be so "innovative" as he always calls it. Nothing innovative here.

The beat and production are hot. The rest is meh but tolerable for me. I get why people think it's awful though.

This will debut high on iTunes for a week, then plummet, with no radio play.

Black Eyed Peas is becoming the next Nickelback in terms of online haters. To be fair they always had haters. As far as i know the band was well considered before changing their sound to have success, so in certain circles they were mocked practically from the beginning (the beggining of them having hits). The fact that some of their biggest hits (fortunately not all) are on the annoying hits list of a lot of people doesn't help either

I know the old saying "don't judge a book by it's cover", but it just does not apply to this here. I was expecting it to not be awesome, and it was not awesome at all. It's terrible. I am not here for this type of production. It feels so ratchet, even for BEP and David Guetta standards. It feels so anonymous that anyone could have recorded it, but given that it's BEP, this is such a downgrade. And I thought "The Time (Dirty Bit)" and "Pump It" were bad. Their music is at least tolerable with Fergie, banshee screaming and all.
