The Countdown continues...
#80: Locked Out of Heaven by Bruno Mars
Peak: #3 Points: 966 Notes: Not the best I've heard from him, but very good nevertheless.
#79: Drunk in Love by Beyonce ft. Jay-Z
Peak: #2 Points: 975 Notes: Good R&B beat.
#78: Earned it by The Weeknd
Peak: #1 Points: 998 Notes: Still doing very well on the chart! Almost every aspect of this song is great. VERY good vocals, lyrics, and beat.
#77: Show Me by Kid Ink ft. Chris Brown
Peak: #5 Points: 1004 Notes: Great harmony, good beat.
#76: I Knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift
Peak: #5 Points: 1005 Notes: Very catchy. Oh, and one other thing: Who remembers this?
#75: Time of Our Lives by Pitbull ft. Ne-Yo
Peak: #3 Points: 1006 Notes: Also very catchy, specifically here, I like Ne-Yo's refrain more than Pitbull's verses.
#74: The Man by Aloe Blacc
Peak: #6 Points: 1014 Notes: Great vocals, great message, great lyrics!
#73: Stay the Night by Zedd ft. Hayley Williams
Peak: #4 Points: 1015 Notes: Very good EDM beat and great vocals from Hayley.
#72: I Don't Mind by Usher ft. Juicy J
Peak: #4 Points: 1026 Notes: The message ain't too bad once you actually break down the lyrics. Another good song from Usher.
#71: Rude by Magic!
Peak: #3 Points: 1031 Notes: The way the story is presented in this song is very easy to tell. All in all, it's a so-so song.Flip Albie trustypepper popstop Mr. Thonk Eyes Daryl the Beryl Ed The Pacifist! @markg94 H. I think #87 and #88 have the wrong picture How do you figure? "Play It Again" has the "Maps" picture and "Ghost" has the "Play It Again" picture

^That was fun, but after that, people started to paste goat sounds in songs where it just didn't fit...

The Countdown Continues...
#60: Just give me a reason by P!nk ft. Nate Ruess
Peak: #2 Points: 1155 Notes: Absolutely not a fan of P!nk, but I gotta admit, her vocals are great here and so are Nate Ruess'.
#59: Blame by Calvin Harris ft. John Newman
Peak: #1 Points: 1157 Notes: Excellent follow up to Summer! John Newman did a great job on the vocals.
#58: Blank Space by Taylor Swift
Peak: #1 Points: 1167 Notes: Kudos to T-Swift for this song. Basically dissing the media for the way they portray her as the witch she appears to be in relationships.
#57: Stay by Rihanna ft. Mikky Echo
Peak: #3 Points: 1174 Notes: Good lyrics and follow up to Diamonds.
#56: When I Was Your Man by Bruno Mars
Peak: #1 Points: 1175 Notes: Excellent vocals and lyrics. Bruno never fails to impress me. Tune in later to see where his best song lands on this chart...
#55: Shake it Off by Taylor Swift
Peak: #2 Points: 1177 Notes: The most appropriate song for T-Swift to release. Great song, and great music video.
#54: Break Free by Ariana Grande ft. Zedd
Peak: #2 Points: 1185 Notes: One of my personal favorite EDM duos of 2014, overall, great work!
#53: Don't You Worry Child by Swedish House Mafia ft. John Martin
Peak: #1 Points: 1191 Notes: Excellent EDM song, before another EDM song came shortly after this (you will see it later in the countdown...), this was my favorite EDM song. Glad it reached the top 10 of the Hot 100. Excellent lyrics and good meaning!
#52: Can't Hold Us by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis ft. Ray Dalton
Peak: #4 Points: 1200 Notes: Excellent follow up to their debut single (you may see it later in the countdown...). Nicely done, very catchy, btw, I NAILED Macklemore's rap when my family and I danced to this at a wedding a few months ago, sure impressed the others.
#51: Don't Tell 'Em by Jeremih ft. YG
Peak: #2 Points: 1206 Notes: Good beat. Even without a music video, still did very well on the Hot 100, impressive.Flip Albie trustypepper popstop Mr. Thonk Eyes Daryl the Beryl Ed The Pacifist! @markg94 H. The Countdown Continues...
#50: Boom Clap by Charli XCX
Peak: #4 Points: 1229 Notes: Saw the movie, excellent song for that film and also for her album.
#49: My Hitta by YG ft. Jeezy and Rich Homie Quan
Peak: #9 Points: 1234 Notes: Very catchy- that is, if you listen to the clean version only, like I did.
#48: Say Something by A Great Big World ft. Christina Aguilera
Peak: #3 Points: 1240 Notes: I'll be honest here: I teared up a little bit when I first heard this song (Don't judge me...). Excellent lyrics and meaning.
#47: Cool Kids by Echosmith
Peak: #2 Points: 1253 Notes: Excellent meaning and lyrics, I'll bet a lot of people can relate.
#46: Let Her Go by Passenger
Peak: #4 Points: 1254 Notes: Great message, great lyrics. Also, who remembers this? Very good SB commercial:
#45: Loyal by Chris Brown ft. Lil Wayne and Tyga
Peak: #1 Points: 1274 Notes: Excellent comeback song from Chris Brown.
#44: Jealous by Nick Jonas
Peak: #6 Points: 1281 Notes: Prior to the release of this song, I forgot all about Nick Jonas and I didn't even know this was him at first when I first heard it. But very catchy.
#43: Hold On, We're Going Home by Drake ft. Majid Jordan
Peak: #3 Points: 1288 Notes: Not something I was expecting from Drake, but very well done!
#42: Bang Bang by Jessie J ft. Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj
Peak: #2 Points: 1296 Notes: Why Ariana was in this song, I do not know... but nevertheless, very catchy.
#41: Love Me Harder by (guess who?) Ariana Grande ft. The Weeknd
Peak: #1 Points: 1300 Notes: For the fourth time this countdown, Ariana Grande makes an appearance. Btw, all 5 of her songs from "My Everything" peaked at #1 or #2 on the JL44 chart. This is one of her 2 #1 singles, you will see where her first #1 lands here later on... The Countdown Continues...
#40: Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran
Peak: #2 Points: 1306 Notes: Ed's best single to date, very good lyrics!
#39: Summer by Calvin Harris
Peak: #1 Points: 1339 Notes: Very good and appropriate for summer indeed. Great beat, and surprisingly, good voice from Calvin.
#38: Problem by Ariana Grande ft. Iggy Azalea
Peak: #1 Points: 1344 Notes: Still my favorite Ariana Grande song! Very good lyrics, beat, even Iggy's rap portion fits the song.
#37: Let it Go by Idina Menzel
Peak: #1 Points: 1344 Notes: Several factors helped in how this got to the summit for one week: my family, my siblings, the fact it made the top 5 of the Hot 100, and of course, the movie and Idina. It's annoying now, but still, it's a good song.
#36: Pompeii by Bastille
Peak: #4 Points: 1350 Notes: Excellent meaning and lyrics, definitely deserved its top 5 appearance on the Hot 100.
#35: Waves by Mr. Probz
Peak: #6 Points: 1379 Notes: Very good vocals, good lyrics. Can definitely relate.
#34: Stay with Me by Sam Smith
Peak: #2 Points: 1382 Notes: Still my favorite song from Sam Smith. Everything's perfect.
#33: Team by Lorde
Peak: #4 Points: 1384 Notes: Excellent follow up to her debut single (you'll see if it makes the list later :) )
#32: Gangnam Style by PSY
Peak: #4 Points: 1409 Notes: This was played EVERYWHERE in late 2012 and early 2013, and it stayed a while on my chart. Extremely catchy.
#31: Counting Stars by One Republic
Peak: #3 Points: 1410 Notes: So close to hitting #1 on the Hot 100 and so close to hitting #1 on my chart too. In fact, at its peak on my chart, the gap between #1 and #2 was very small, and CS was closer to #2 than #2 was to #1. But still, excellent meaning, lyrics, everything is perfect! For sure, their best song to date.Flip Albie trustypepper popstop Mr. Thonk Eyes Daryl the Beryl Ed The Pacifist! @markg94 H. The Countdown Continues...
And then, there were 25... I trust all of you are happy overall with the first 175 songs I've shown you on this countdown. So now, we go into the best of the best. Who and what will be JL44's most successful song? We are inching ever so closer to that moment...
#25: Happy by Pharrell Williams
Peak: #1 Points: 1493 Notes: Very catchy, very good lyrics, even though it did get annoying after a few months.
#24: Clarity by Zedd ft. Foxes
Peak: #1 Points: 1508 Notes: This here is one of own personal favorites of all time and my favorite EDM song of all time as well. Spent 9 weeks at #1 in 2013. Excellent beat from Zedd and great lyrics and vocals from Foxes.
#23: Burn by Ellie Goulding
Peak: #5 Points: 1512 Notes: This, along with Lights and LMLYD, are Ellie's best in my book. It took a rare path on my chart by debuting in the top 10 in July 2013, staying in the top 20 all of summer, where it eventually reached its #5 peak in August, and then making its second run to the top 15 in early 2014 when it got popular in the US.
#22: Royals by Lorde
Peak: #4 Points: 1537 Notes: Very meaningful lyrics and good message from Lorde. Definitely deserved to reach #1 on the Hot 100.
#21: Demons by Imagine Dragons
Peak: #3 Points: 1556 Notes: Excellent song from ID. This song also had two chart runs: its first in the summer of 2013, where it reached #25, its second starting in late fall 2013, where in winter 2014, it reached #3.

The Countdown Continues...
And here we go into the top 20. If you're ready, then here we go!
#20: Suit and Tie by Justin Timberlake ft. Jay-Z
Peak: #1 Points: 1559 Notes: Very good vocals and lyrics. As I've said before, JT never fails to impress me.
#19: Wake Me Up! by Avicii ft. Aloe Blacc
Peak: #2 Points: 1590 Notes: I hate to repeatedly say, "Good lyrics and vocals" for a lot of songs in this countdown, but here, I gotta say the same thing. Too bad this doesn't count as a top 10 for Aloe, he deserves it as much as he deserved "The Man." Great EDM beat as well.
#18: I'm Not the Only One by Sam Smith
Peak: #1 Points: 1608 Notes: I do like "Stay with Me" slightly more than this, but still, this hit #1 and it stuck on my chart longer than SWM. Great song in nearly every way.
#17: Turn Down for What by DJ Snake ft. Lil John
Peak: #3 Points: 1625 Notes: This song spent nearly 8 months on my chart, with it peaking in May and June. It may be one phrase over and over again, but this was so damn catchy and the beat is perfect!
#16: Rather Be by Clean Bandit ft. Jess Glynne
Peak: #3 Points: 1646 Notes: You saw this at #3 in the 2014 countdown, now you see it in the top 20 here. This debuted in May 2014, a few weeks before the start of its US run, and it slayed in the top 10. It also lasted until the end of November. This is also nearly perfect in every detail, the one thing I regret is not listening to this early, I first heard about this around late March. This deserves at least top 10. :(

The Countdown Continues...
#15: Black Widow by Iggy Azalea ft. Rita Ora
Peak: #1 Points: 1647 Notes: Spent 14 weeks at #1, almost perfect in every way!
#14: Centuries by Fall Out Boy
Peak: #3 Points: 1659 Notes: One of Fall Out Boy's best songs. Its longevity on my chart is to thank and also, it spent the majority of its run in the top 15.
#13: Timber by Pitbull ft. Kesha
Peak: #1 Points: 1687 Notes: Not a big fan of Kesha, but she does a great job as the featured act in this song. Also, the most popular hit at the recent weddings I went to. Love it in nearly every way.
#12: Fancy by Iggy Azalea ft. Charli XCX
Peak: #1 Points: 1705 Notes: The moment I heard this, I was really hooked to it, it's THAT catchy. Spent 6 weeks at #1, 16 weeks in the top 3, and 17 weeks in the top 5, second most and third most respectively.
#11: Mirrors by Justin Timberlake
Peak: #2 Points: 1730 Notes: One of the best, if not THE best, songs I've ever heard from this incredible artist. Very good message and lyrics.Flip Albie trustypepper popstop Mr. Thonk Eyes Daryl the Beryl Ed The Pacifist! @markg94 H. Here we go!#10:Swimming Pools (Drank) by Kendrick Lamar
Peak: #1Points: 1873Notes: This had two runs. The first was its run because of its Hot 100 run and its catchiness. The other was when I realized the message of this song: About the dangers of alcohol and what it can do to you. And that's why this song deserves top 10 as well as one of the reasons why Kendrick is one of the best rappers of our generation.#9:Wrecking Ball by Miley CyrusPeak: #1Points: 1877Notes: If you all remember back in 2013, a lot of people hated Miley Cyrus for a lot of her controversial acts, this one of them. The song after the first listen? Great. The video? Everyone hates it now. But not me, for the video, despite the nakedness, was symbolic for the song. Great song overall.
#8:Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars Peak: #1Points: 1886Notes: Truly one of the best songs I've ever heard. And... it's still in the top 10 of my chart. This actually will rank #6 on this chart once this week's weekly chart is up. There are a lot of things I could say about this song, so to sum it up, EVERYTHING is perfect!#7:
Beauty and a Beat by Justin Bieber ft. Nicki Minaj
Peak: #1Points: 1897Notes: This dominated the majority of the first half of 2013 before, uh, we saw the worst of him. Still on the fence currently, not sure what to believe and what not to believe, but nevertheless, this is still a good song. Kinda wish Nicki's verse was a little cleaner tbh.#6:We Can't Stop by Miley Cyrus Peak: #2Points: 1966Notes: Dominated for six months in 2013 and made a brief return in 2014. It spent the entire summer in the top 10, with its top 3 run in August 2013. Very catchy and a great party song, I will say the lyrics should be cleaned up in some places...Flip Albie trustypepper popstop Mr. Thonk Eyes Daryl the Beryl Ed The Pacifist! @markg94 H. The Countdown Continues... #5:Scream and Shout by will.i.am ft. Britney SpearsPeak: #1Points: 2037Notes: Some of you may recall that I was a HUGE Black Eyed Peas fan back in the early 2010's and I loved some of what will.i.am did when not making music with the Peas. Sadly, I've drastically lost interest for him the past few years and the Black Eyed Peas without Fergie. But still here, excellent EDM beat. Even though it is a little repetitive, very catchy nevertheless. Also dominated the first half of 2013.Great song, but that's not his best on this chart... THIS IS:#4:#thatPOWER by will.i.am ft. Justin BieberPeak: #1Points: 2062Notes: Just edged out Scream and Shout for the #4 spot, and although it's a 25 point difference, this used to hold lots of records. It was one of only 2 songs to debut at the summit (Problem was the other), it spent 10 weeks at #1, 15 weeks in the top 3, and 20 weeks in the top 5, all 3 of those which are now gone. Excellent beat here as well, very catchy, and even JB's refrain isn't bad here.3 to go! Who will claim the medals? Find out later today!
