Clear Channel's WQYZ (Gulfport/Biloxi) has switched from top-40 (92.5 Kiss FM) to black gospel (92.5 Hallelujah FM?). On December 24, 2003, WDBT (Jackson) switched from top-40 (95.5 The Beat) to black gospel ( 95.5 Hallelujah FM). Its call letters became WHLH by January 1, 2004.

WQYZ wasn't on the CHR-Pop panel (WXYK from that market is) and it isn't a constantly monitored market so it won't affect the national ratings. I don't think another Gospel station there can do nearly as well as WHLH.

I'm surprised WQYZ didn't change the call letters when they became a CC Kiss station. Oh well, that's all in the past now.

WAEV and WXSS are other Kiss stations (the first one is Clear Channel and the second one isn't) without a K in the call letters. WXYK is mostly rhythmic.

The latest Biloxi ratings showed that in it's short run as 92.5 Kiss FM, WQYZ never caught on. WXYK and Mobile's WABB were ahead of WQYZ.

The latest Biloxi ratings showed that in it's short run as 92.5 Kiss FM, WQYZ never caught on. WXYK and Mobile's WABB were ahead of WQYZ. But Kiss did show some growth. Over a share, in fact. But I guess revenue didn't keep up or Clear Channel just wasn't patient enough.
