Ok, geniuses who continuosly complain about the "throwin' up a little dust like a pickup truck" lyric in verse one. You're apparently not listening to the continuation of the lyric. "Throwin' up a little dust like a pickup truck DOES IN THE MUD." For an audience that essentially lives life in a truck, how don't you understand that if you've got your foot on the gas and you happen to drive pretty quickly through mud/dirt/gravel, the tires will spin harder for traction, producing ... wait for it ... wait for it. DUST!!! The entire first verse is about burning up the road in a Pontiac, so obviously somewhere in the process there'd be some dust! Not sure why this is even a question. Maybe it's because if you're driving through mud, you wouldn't be throwing up dust, but rather... mud. It'd be like saying that he's gonna make the gravel fly when he tears down a blacktop road. Like, it really doesn't make sense to drive on a wet surface and be kicking up a substance that would be conducive to being on a dry surface.

Well, it's settled: on the topic of whether or not dust can be kicked up where mud exists, you happen to be the world's foremost literal expert. Let me know where I can get your book, because I'd love to know the facts on the actual differences in say ... roads and streets, houses and homes, bars and pubs, etc. I need clarity.

Not to be rude but to be honest there is such a thing called dry mud which then would in fact produce dust. So it could be that's what he was talking about in the song because he never clarified the conditions of the mud..should've used a different line though

You're getting pretty worked up about a line in a song sir/ma'am. Indulge responded in a respectful way, so I don't think the sarcasm was warranted. Also, I skimmed the thread and didn't find a single person who complained about that line, so I'm not quite sure where your frustration is stemming from.

In other words, mud that has dried, is no longer mud.

If you have a question about mud on the tires, speak to Brad Paisley. If you have a question about dirt, speak to Florida Georgia Line. And if you have a question about dust, ask Eli Young Band! If its sand, you'll need Greg Bates. Any additional mud questions may be directed towards The Farm

at this whole entire page. Anyway, still love this song. Love the vocal arrangement, especially in the chorus.

Since they are all releasing singles at the same time, I was curious to know who do you guys think it's the bigger artist: Randy Houser, Chris Young, Darius Rucker, Lee Brice or Jake Owen

(Sigh) I remember when I could hardly contain myself to hear new music from Houser. That's been a long time now. Good for him , that hes found a level of success , but this song & all the singles since his comeback have did absolutely nothing for me. This may be my least favorite and is so beneath him. I agree with the Luke Bryan comparisons. What a great voice to waste on a clichéd cookie cutter mess of a song. Its hard for me to even recognize this is the same guy that recorded "Anything Goes".

The sales to airplay ratio for this song is fantastic. I have no idea why radio is holding back on this one so much other than they were really burnt out on Randy due to "Like A Cowboy" taking nearly a year to peak. I think this one would explode if radio just started giving it some more spins.

Heh, I'm already burnt out on this based on the jillion times the Highway has played it. By the time it peaks at terrestrial, I'll cry whenever it comes on.

I think this one would explode if radio just started giving it some more spins. This one's doing just fine to me. "We Went" has broken the MB top 40 rolling chart today and increased 140 spins and 600k in audience this week (with another 43 additional spins today). "We Went" also got 13 more adds this week, which brings Randy's total to nearly 120 monitored stations. Randy's songs usually take a while to get going and this is Stoney Creek/Broken Bow Label Group we're talking about. The sales have been great thus far like you mentioned and I fully expect this to be a top 5 single. It's not "exploding" yet, but it's doing pretty well so far.

One of the many reasons I try not to listen to The Highway. Their playlist logic is like: 1. Highway Finds A) Pick 10 artists nobody has ever heard of, regardless of how country they are. B) Play 3 songs of each artist 5 times a day, regardless of how good they are. 2. Terrestrial Country Artists A) Pick 10 familiar current artists at random, regardless of popularity. B) If artist's current single has been out for less than 3 months, play it 5 times a day. C) If artist's current single has been out for over 3 months, play future single 5 times a day. 3. Current Chart Positions A) If the song is charting between 1 and 10 on terrestrial charts, play it 5 times a day. B) If the song is charting lower than 40 on terrestrial charts, play it 5 times a day. C) If the song is charting between 10 and 40 on terrestrial charts, don't play it. 4. Old Dominion, JT Hodges, Logan Mize, Kelsea Ballerini, Sam Hunt, Chase Rice A) CODE RED. Play as much as possible.

Oh God, I just got horrible flashbacks from when they played "Down For A Get Down" by Josh Thompson instead of what was his current single, "Wanted Me Gone."

I'm also extremely disappointed that this great song isn't climbing the charts much faster; his previous CD was wonderful and I still play it a lot, so I'm definitely looking forward to his next CD, and hopefully it will be released before Christmas.

I find it really interesting that this song was released around the time "Like A Cowboy" was released, but a year later. I wonder if this will stay on the charts for nearly a year like "Cowboy" did. Same with "Already Calling You Mine" by Parmalee, which was released a year later than "Close Your Eyes", which look nearly a year to peak as well. Hmmm.

The lead single for Parmalee's album ("Musta Had A Good Time") was released to radio exactly three years ago.

This song should break the top 30 on MB this Sunday and is selling well for its airplay, which has been helped by The Highway, who has spun this one from day one. At 16 weeks old, I'm pretty certain this will end up being a top 5 peak for Randy, which essentially means a #1 single, at least on MB.
For me personally though, this one puts me to sleep. The lyrics are okay and I like the opening guitar riff but that's about it. The melody is just so uninteresting and the whole song just screams of radio-friendly filler that makes me want to turn the dial every 10 minutes.

Yeah, this song isn't too bad, but it's definitely not one that I care for all that much. It's too loud and it doesn't sound very country. To make matters worse, "We Went" is basically a poor imitation of Dierks Bentley's "What Was I Thinkin'" which is ten times better than this is.
Randy is capable of way better than this. I really enjoyed his last album, so I'm hoping that the rest of his upcoming album will be much better than "We Went" just like "How Country Feels" was perhaps the weakest track on How Country Feels.

Really? The LYRICS are what you find passable about this? Lol They're inoffensive and don't really make me roll my eyes, so I guess that qualifies as okay. My standards have been lowered lately, I'll admit. The melody really does zero for me and this is probably my least favorite single from Randy since his Show Dog-Universal days.
