Wow. The impact on the sales for this is incredible. :o I still need to check out this album, lol. Yeah, same. I ordered it from Amazon today, so I'll be interested to listen to it. I did the same thing last year with Brandy Clark's 12 Stories and was really impressed, so hopefully it'll be the same case here.

This album is excellent. If Country still sounded like this, I'd be listening to a lot more of it.

Tennessee Whiskey is #2 on iTunes is that b/c of the CMAs or something? Yes, lol. The CMA Awards is the reason.

I don't remember doing a review on this album. Which is a shame. And, i'm a dummy. Cause, this is easily one of the top 10 albums of the year. I was watching the CMA's. And, had the volume low like aways. Not really paying attention. Waiting for something good to happen. Then i hear Chris Won the 1st time i'm shocked like no way. Then a 2nd time i'm like am I dreaming no way this is happening. Then he takes #3 OMG. That made my night. So, it didn't piss me off as much when Luke or FGL won that night it was ok.
Anyway let's get into the ranking of the tracks of this beast of a album.
1. Traveller - i freaking love this song 2. Tennessee Whiskey - i never thought anyone could top Jones's classic i'm not saying that Chris does here but it's the closest that anyone ever will 3. Fire Away 4. Nobody to Blame - i hope this is a big # 1 hit and makes Chris a household name 5. Whiskey And You - i loved Tim's version but I love the songwriter's version much more as usual 6. When The Stars Come Out - this could be a big follow up to Nobody to Blame 7. Daddy Doesn't Pray Anymore 8. Was It 26 9. The Devil Named Music 10. Sometimes I Cry - the vocal here damn it don't get any better folks 11. Outlaw State of Mind 12. Might As Well Get Stoned 13. More of You 14. Parachute
Not one bad song on here. Love them all. I just like more than the others. 10/10 album here. It will sure be hard to compile my top 10 albums list this year.

Anyone who hasn't heard the Jompson Brothers album is missing out big time. His vocals might be even better on that one.

Fantastic record! So happy with how well the album is doing.
Boy, ranking the songs on this album was pretty tough because I either love or like each song. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out but there's still a chance some songs will be moved around.
1.Whiskey and You 2.Fire Away 3.Tennesse Whiskey 4.Parachute 5.Traveller 6.Was It 26 7.Daddy Doesn’t Pray Anymore 8.When The Stars Come Out 9.More of You 10. Nobody To Blame 11. Outlaw State of Mind 12.The Devil Named Music 13. Might As Well Get Stoned 14. Sometimes I Cry

I see its chart run being similar to that of Sturgill Simpson's "Metamodern Sounds in Country Music" 6 months later, and it's outsold it already! I hope it spends a year more on the country album chart though. (MSICM is at it's 78th consecutive week on the country album chart and will transit to catalog status next week)

Anyone who hasn't heard the Jompson Brothers album is missing out big time. His vocals might be even better on that one. I will definitely have to do that ASAP. I also HIGHLY recommend the first two Steeldrivers albums to any Stapleton fan. They don't have his name on their cover, but he sings lead on every song. Songs such as "If It Hadn't Been for Love", "Sticks That Made Thunder", "Where Rainbows Never Die", and "Can You Run" are downright amazing.

I still have to hear The Steeldrivers' original.

I like this album a lot and even more like the success he is having right now, but I think his work with The Steeldrivers is even better than Traveller. Stapleton is just a phenomenal singer.
I also wish Sturgill Simpson had at least 1/10 of this success with his last album.

The Steeldrivers are exceptional musicians, and the dynamic they had with Stapleton was just magic.

Same here. Personally, while I like Traveller and regard it as a good, above-average album, I'm not really blown away by it like almost everyone else is. I think that's more because the traditional country/bluegrass sound of The Steeldrivers is much more my cup of tea than the bluesy soul and southern rock of much of Traveller. I'm ecstatic to see Stapleton get mainstream recognition regardless, though.

Traveller is projected to move back to #1 on Top Country Albums this week (tracking period ends tomorrow). Industry projections have Chris selling another 43-47k copies this week (53-57k in sales plus streaming). hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=298682Since the CMA Awards, Chris' sales have been astounding. November 21 Billboard issue: 177,000 SPS / 153,000 pure sales November 28 Billboard issue: 124,000 SPS / 97,000 pure sales December 5 Billboard issue: 53,000 SPS / 42,000 pure sales So he's expected to increase slightly this week, as compared to last week (Dec. 5 chart). I wonder how much he'll sell next week? Black Friday marks the start of the new tracking period so I'm expecting another huge week for him.

I know I'm super late, but I finally listened to this album this morning (my order finally came during the week).
Like most people have said, I really like this album. It definitely deserves the praise and recognition that it has received in the last month or so. I don't really hear any radio hits on it, which makes "Nobody To Blame"'s success so far even sweeter. I'm really interested to see what happens to the singles from this here on out. Whether he goes the Alison Krauss route (acclaim leads to one big hit, then goes back to being ignored at mainstream radio), or whether he can have a string of hits that go against the grain of what radio is willing to play.
My only complaint is that I wish "What Are You Listening To" was included. I still really like that song.

Traveller is spending its 52nd week on the chart this week. It is amazing what this 'little album' did for Chris Stapleton during the past year. Guess what, it's #1 this week!

I just read through this thread for the first time. It's crazy reading the posts back in May 2015 now. Congrats to Stapleton and his much deserved success. Now let's get "Parachute" to shoot up the charts please :) .
