(THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL BILLBOARD CHART!) HEY FOLKS! Since Billboard official only gave us the list of top 100 songs from 1958-2013, I was like: why not expanding this list to a larger one as all the way to top 500 songs or even more from 1958 to now (which is obviously halfway through 2015!), and for sure that's just my goal of taking full advantages of the inverse point system I created similar to which is used in Billboard official to calculate the points of biggest hits. Again, this is not an official one, but the accuracy is high as I've been twerking this inverse point system I created for a while just sometimes when I'm bored.. anyway, so trust me, this is close to the Billboard official one.

Anyway, today in order to celebrate UPTOWN FUNK's soaring in top 30 of all-time chart, I'm gonna be posting the top 30 of this monstrous list (like the tip of an iceberg!)

COLUMN A: SONG TITLE B: ARTISTS C: ESTIMATED POINTS D: IGNORE THAT! E: CHARTING YEARS F/G/H: TOTAL WEEKS ON CHART/WEEKS IN TOP 10/WEEKS AT NO.1 I: AMPLIFIER (FOR EXAMPLE, IF IT SAYS *1.7, THEN FOR EACH WEEK THE TITLE SPENT AT NO.1, IT WOULD WORTH THE VALUE OF 1.7 WEEKS.) J/K/L: AMPLIFIED TOTAL WEEKS ON CHART/... TOP 10/... AT NO.1

THE "AMPLIFIER" REFLECTS THE VARIATION OF THE METHODOLOGIES BILLBOARD HAS ADOPTED SINCE 1958. NOW AFTER THE STREAMING IS INCLUDED, THE "AMPLIFIER" SINCE THE MARCH OF 2012 UP UNTIL NOW HAS BEEN 0.9.

this list is really good. can't wait for the complete list. by the way, just one question, do the amplified weeks on chart, top 10 and weeks at number 1 (J,K,L column) contribute to each song's points?

this list is really good. can't wait for the complete list. by the way, just one question, do the amplified weeks on chart, top 10 and weeks at number 1 (J,K,L column) contribute to each song's points? How do i break this to you... for example, let's say this song in 1963, it has 10 wks at top 10 and 1 wk #1, its total points calculated is close to a song with 17 wks at top 10 and 2 wks at no.1 charted in, say, 2003, when streaming is not yet counted while Neilson system had been used. Why? for sake of balancing the different time era in which billboard has changed methodologies used to make the hot 100 lists, there's an "amplifier" directed applied to the points added up from the chart run of songs based on the year they are charted.. that's why only the amplified wks on chart, top 10 wks and wks on top are the efficient reflectors of how well they are performed on chart in comparison to others.. Clear enough?

I know billboard had to use weighted points by using amplifiers to balance different eras but what im asking is because you put the amplified weeks on chart, top 10 etc. on your table, im just wondering if they actually are included in the computation of each song's points. I mean i did mention that im doing my own inverse system b4 and i basically assign points for every position. E.g. 1 is 500, 2 is 400, is 350 ..... and 100 is 1 points. I dont add extra points for each week they stay in top 10 or at number 1 etc..

No extra, just assignment of corresponding points amplified..

Ok. I mean i already know about this amplifiers. Believe it or not, we use exactly the same amplifiers for different eras. i think ur points assignment is more accurate than mine though.
