What are some singles that you didn't enjoy until they "left" the charts?
Some of mine: :)
Jerrod Niemann - "What Do You Want" Wreckers - "Tennessee" Danielle Peck - "I Don't" Blake Shelton - "Playboys Of The Southwestern World" Blake Shelton - "Don't Make Me" Kellie Coffey - "When You Lie Next To Me" Katrina Elam - "Love Is" Rockie Lynn - "Do We Still" Toby Keith - "Crash Here Tonight" Toby Keith - "Beers Ago" Tim McGraw - "Some Things Never Change" Tim McGraw - "Kristofferson" Lee Ann Womack - "Why They Call It Falling" Lee Ann Womack - "The Wrong Girl" Steve Holy - "Put Your Best Dress On" Faith Hill - "The Lucky One" (okay I was wrong; this one's pretty fun, lol. I still think "Sunshine And Summertime" is better though) Rushlow - "I Can't Be Your Friend" Van Zant - "Help Somebody" Rebecca Lynn Howard - "Forgive" Little Big Town - "A Little More You" LoCash Cowboys - "Keep In Mind"

Springsteen by Eric Church. I hardly ever watch videos and I wasn't knocked out by this song when Chief was released (I still think he has much better songs). So videos rarely effect my opinion of a song . I randomly watched it right before an awards show that this was nominated for and it just kinda clicked many months after it had peaked.

Sara Evans - Cheatin' I didn't develop a taste for more traditional-sounding music until I was older, so when this first came out I thought it was slow and boring. Now it's easily one of my favorite things Sara Evans has ever done.
Kenny Chesney - Who You'd Be Today At first I thought this song was pleasant but not particularly memorable. It wasn't until I had some loved ones pass away that the lyrics really hit me.

Kenny Chesney - Who You'd Be Today At first I thought this song was pleasant but not particularly memorable. It wasn't until I had some loved ones pass away that the lyrics really hit me. Not to get too sappy here but that's true with many, many people. I'll admit that there have been songs I either didn't care for or thought was a little too syrupy, until something happened in my life that made me relate directly to that song. "I Can't Be Your Friend" by Rushlow being one of them and "Keep In Mind" by LoCash Cowboys being another. I too grew for a bigger appreciation of "Who You'd Be Today" long after it exited the chart.

Donkey by Jerrod Neimann
When it was climbing, I hated it because I feared that it would be a monumental hit. When it left the chart I appreciated it because I laughed at how big of a bomb it was for him.

Mo Pitney- "Country"
Objectively I still think this song is cheesy lyrically, but personally I can definitely connect with the feeling that "country" can be anything and anywhere....even in New York! ;)
And it'll be gone soon so...
George Strait- "Cold Beer Conversation"
At first this was just "there" for me (which is very rare for a George Strait song with me), but something just clicked with me recently and now I really like it.

"Without You" by Keith Urban. I still think the lyrics aren't impressive outside the "climbing with a bullet" line, but I like the tenderness in the delivery and production.
"Aw Naw" by Chris Young. My first thought was "aw naw, Young's going bro", but I don't think it's nearly as pandering as some recent bro-songs by not-usually-bro artists.

I still think "Without You" is one of the most boring hits of the past decade.

I've loved pretty much everything he's ever released and he has tons of awesome album tracks, but "Without You" is the one single of his that I just...never listen to.

I still don't think "Without You" is his greatest by any means, and would probably still put it near the bottom singles-wise (besides maybe "Your Everything"), but I at least find it a lot less boring than I used to.

Miranda Lambert - Mama's Broken Heart
It took me an entire year after this exited the chart to get into it.

"American Soldier" by Toby Keith. I honestly thought it was just a boring soldier song until I heard Toby point out its twist: until the chorus, it just sounds like it's praising an ordinary everyday family man. I actually thought that was a decent twist, which makes it one of the only palatable "'Murica" songs from Toby IMO.

Rascal Flatts - "Take Me There" (I definitely think me growing up and realizing what it means to take the lyrics to heart had something to do with it; at the time I was just mad it blocked "Online" from the Mediabase #1).
I also have grown to like "Here", even though it really is a cruddier version of "Bless The Broken Road."

Just some crowdedness, that's all. It did get to #10 on R&R.

Regarding "Forgive", I see....I looked at Wiki and it was 12th on the US Country Airplay chart. I think I had that CD at one time.
