That video made so nervous for that phone that could've easily been stepped on during the choreography, smashed and caused a serious injury that I had to rewatch it to find out what song she was even performing lmao. I mean, why did she need to have the phone in her pocket on stage? |

She's indie yet signed to Roc Nation, which means...? I don't quite get how it works here. So she's funding herself to produce music, but Roc Nation will help distribute it?

She denied the RN rumors in September (unless you're seeing something she said recently? I haven't seen anything else). That said, RN quietly launched an indie distribution company called Equity in 2018; she probably inked a distribution deal through them and that's why she was careful to 'deny' being signed to RN, because technically she's not. Distribution-only deals allow you to rely on a bigger entity to handle playlisting and physical shipments while still owning your own masters and having a different management team (or self-managing). |
