Good for them. Haven't heard the album yet but I'm sure it's great. Really good numbers especially given that the album's singles thusfar haven't become multi-format singles and haven't done as well as many of their previous singles!

Really great especially since What Kind of Man isn't as big as Shake It Out was.

Wow! I didn't think her new album would do that well in the first week, since the lead single wasn't as big as Shake it Out, but I guess she has built up a loyal fanbase. Awesome!

Florence + the Machine Set for First No. 1 Album on Billboard 200
By Keith Caulfield | June 03, 2015 9:58 PM EDT
Florence + The Machine is heading for its first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. Industry forecasters suggest the rock act’s third studio album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, may move 130,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 7. The set was released on June 2 through Republic Records.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Billboard 200’s top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, June 10.
Florence + The Machine -- led by Florence Welch -- has visited the Billboard 200 four times previously. Their debut studio set, Lungs, peaked at No. 14 in 2010 and was followed by 2011’s Ceremonials, which debuted and peaked at No. 6. In addition, the act scored entries with Lungs: The B-Sides (EP) (No. 113 in 2011) and MTV Unplugged (No. 51 in 2012).
Other notable new albums heading for significant debuts on next week’s Billboard 200 chart include Jason Derulo’s Everything Is 4 (35,000 units), Lil Durk’s Remember My Name (30,000) and Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard’s Django and Jimmy (30,000).

Jason has never been a strong album seller so this is not surprising. He has had a string of big radio and digital hits, but it just has not translated to album sales. Even releasing midtempos and ballads that generally help with album sales didn't do the trick either. He's a singles artist and that's just not going to change.

It's just so bizarre to me that he can sell millions of singles, have a slew of top 10 singles, and release an album that can't even sell 100k total. At a certain point, why both releasing albums? Just throw out individual tracks or an EP.

Really surprised F+TM's streaming numbers aren't higher but still awesome that they are pulling over 100k in pure sales!

I think you're answering your own question! lol I think most of their fanbase (like me) is more interested in buying the album and listening to it that way, rather than streaming it.

But you'd expect an artist to develop a fanbase after so many hits, and it seems Derulo isn't able to. It's crazy to think Chris Brown is still able to sell more than him!

It's just so bizarre to me that he can release an album that can't even sell 100k total. Talk Dirty (the album) sold over 245k alone in the US.

What did Jason's "Talk Dirty" open with. I thought with this album he would have sold a bit more that last time around, even though "Talk Dirty" felt like a bigger hit on my opinion. I like his current cd and thought it was well worth the $9.99 I spent on it.

Just throw out individual tracks or an EP. He did that with Tattoos/ Talk Dirty and actually got decent numbers for the full-length (the EP did decent too fwiw). They're probably lost at what they should do with him, an EP or full-length.

Hoped a bit better for Major Lazer but they haven't sold much albums before so this is decent. And SPS will trend upwards for sure, +4k seems very low considering Lean On.

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6590489/jason-derulo-top-10-debut-billboard-200Jason Derulo Heading for Top 10 Debut on Billboard 200 ChartBy Keith Caulfield | June 05, 2015 6:20 PM EDT Jason Derulo is driving toward his second top 10 album on the Billboard 200 chart with his new release, Everything Is 4. Industry forecasters suggest the album -- which was issued on June 2 through Beluga Heights/Warner Bros. Records -- could move upwards of 40,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 7. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The chart’s new top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, June 10. Everything Is 4 was preceded by the single “Want to Want Me,” which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and currently sits at No. 9 on the list dated June 13. The track is his seventh top 10 single. The new set follows Derulo’s Talk Dirty album, which was released in April of 2014 and contained five top 40 Hot 100 hits: “The Other Side” (which reached No. 18), “Marry Me” (No. 26), “Talk Dirty” (No. 3), “Wiggle” (No. 5) and “Trumpets” (No. 14). Other albums heading for the top 10 include Florence + the Machine’s bound-for-No. 1 How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful and Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard’s collaborations set Django and Jimmie. The former might shift around 130,000 units, while the latter could move 30,000.
