The set, which was released on May 26, moved 146,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 31, according to Nielsen Music. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Traditional album sales comprised 117,000 units of At.Long.Last.A$AP’s’s first week, while the rest of its overall sum was tallied by TEA and SEA. At.Long.Last.A$AP’s release arrived a week earlier than expected, as the set (which was issued through A$AP Worldwide/Polo Grounds/RCA Records) was slated to bow on June 2. The new album follows A$AP Rocky’s first studio effort, 2013’s Long.Live.A$AP, which debuted atop the tally dated Feb. 2, 2013 with 139,000 copies sold. At.Long.Last.A$AP is the sixth rap album to lead the Billboard 200 in 2015, following the Furious 7 soundtrack, Wale’s The Album About Nothing, Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly, Big Sean’s Dark Sky Paradise and Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. A year ago at this point, only two rap titles had topped the tally: Schoolboy Q’s Oxymoron and Rick Ross’ Mastermind. (That said, most of the first half of 2014 saw the Frozen soundtrack lock up the No. 1 slot, so there was little changeover at the top of the list.) At No. 2 on the latest Billboard 200 chart is Taylor Swift’s 1989, which holds in the runner-up slot for another week (70,000 units; down 23 percent). Rapper Boosie BadAzz (formerly known as Lil’ Boosie) scores his highest charting album and best sales week yet as Touch Down 2 Cause Hell starts at No. 3 with 64,000 units. Pure album sales tallied 59,000 of that sum. Boosie’s previous highest rank and sales frame came when 2009’s Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz (credited to Lil’ Boosie) debuted and peaked at No. 7 off a 49,000 sales start. The Pitch Perfect 2 soundtrack slips one rung to No. 4 with 51,000 units (down 31 percent). Christian ensemble Hillsong United -- an offshoot of the Hillsong Church -- debuts at No. 5 with Empires, moving 50,000 units. (Album sales equated to 47,000 of that sum – the Hillsong brand’s best sales week ever.) The arrival also gives Hillsong its second top 10 album, following Hillsong United’s Zion in 2013, which also debuted and peaked at No. 5 with its previous sales high (34,000). Over on the Top Christian Albums chart, Empires enters at No. 1, giving the Hillsong brand its 12th chart-topper. Last week’s Billboard 200 No. 1, Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface, drops to No. 6 with 38,000 units (down 74 percent). Ed Sheeran’s x rises 8-7 with 35,000 (down 7 percent) and Meghan Trainor’s Title slips 5-8 with 34,000 (down 27 percent). The soundtrack to Fifty Shades of Grey bounds back into the top 10, climbing 11-9, with 30,000 units (down 15 percent), and the Furious 7 soundtrack descends one slot to No. 10 with just under 30,000 (down 18 percent).

If Capitol has the money to certify this, then why not certify Katy Perry, 5 Seconds of Summer and Bastille as well? Because they aren't still actively marketing those albums the way they are Sam Smith But Katy Perry was already legible for Platinum when she was still popular in December 2013/January 2014 (they have been certifying her singles recently instead). 5SOS passed the 500k mark in October, and they were still quite popular then. As for Sam, Capitol only first certified his album in late November when his album was already Gold-eligible in August/September last year. (though in all fairness, they certified it both gold and platinum on the same day) You can make a case for Bastille as they only passed the 500k mark around October, way long after Pompeii peaked on the pop charts (though at that time, Capitol was promoting Flaws on Alternative radio).

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6590493/sam-hunt-bill-withers-chart-movesBillboard 200 Chart Moves: Sam Hunt's on the Rise, Bill Withers ReturnsBy Keith Caulfield | June 05, 2015 7:18 PM EDT Let’s take a closer look at some of the action on the chart: — Soundtrack, Pitch Perfect 2 – No. 4 — Three theatrical film soundtracks populate the top 10 of the Billboard 200 for the second time in 2015, as Pitch Perfect 2 (No. 4) and Furious 7 (No. 10) are joined by a returning-to-the-region Fifty Shades of Grey (11-9, though down 15 percent in equivalent album units for the week ending May 31, according to Nielsen Music). 2015 is the first year since 2003 where the chart has seen multiple weeks with three concurrent top 10 film soundtracks. That year, the feat occurred on June 14 and March 8. — Sam Hunt, Montevallo – No. 12 — Sam Hunt’s Montevallo album flirts with a return to the top 10, as it vaults 20-12 with 26,000 units (up 8 percent). (The album debuted at No. 3 in 2014, and was last in the top 10 on the list dated May 9, 2015.) The set increases in traditional album sales (14,000; up 3 percent) as well as SEA (up 18 percent) and TEA (up 1 percent). The set’s “House Party” single rises 34-28 on the Country Airplay chart, while over on the Pop Songs airplay list, he charts his first entry with the No. 37 debut of “Take Your Time.” The latter cut is a former No. 1 hit on both Country Airplay and the hybrid Hot Country Songs chart (which blends airplay, sales and streaming data). — Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Multi-Love - No. 98 — The rock band's new studio effort, Multi-Love, is their highest charting yet and first to crack the top 100 (No. 98 with 6,000 units -- mostly all pure album sales). On Alternative Albums, the set arrives at No. 10. — Bill Withers, Lean on Me: The Best of Bill Withers - No. 131 — HBO's May 30 airing of the 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony — which saluted the latest inductees, including Green Day and Bill Withers — helps brings Withers onto the chart for the first time since 1985. His Lean on Me: The Best of Bill Withers, which was released in 1994, arrives at No. 131 with 5,000 units — marking his highest charting set since 1978. He last visited the chart in 1985 for 10 weeks with Watching You, Watching Me, which topped out at No. 143. He last ranked higher with 1978’s No. 39-peaking Menagerie, powered by the hit single “Lovely Day” (it climbed to No. 6 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs). — Snarky Puppy & Metropole Orkest, Sylva - No. 162 — The jazzy pop band Snarky Puppy barks with its first entry on the Billboard 200 chart, as Sylva enters at No. 162 with 4,000 units. The album is a collaboration with Dutch Metropole Orkest, and also starts at No. 1 on Heatseekers Albums, Jazz Albums and Contemporary Jazz Albums.
