This is her new single according to the current issue of Billboard (June 13); will she perform it this Wednesday on the CMT Music Awards telecast?

There is a "single review" article from Billboard about this song, but I don't see anything there that states this will be Miranda's next radio single ("radio" being the key word here). It charted on Hot Country Songs, but that's only because the song was sent to iTunes last week, and therefore it charted from sales. As of right now, it's only a digital 'single', not a radio single.
I think it's more likely that they will keep releasing singles from Platinum. It's been rumored that the follow-up to "Little Red Wagon" will be "Smokin' And Drinkin'" and that it could get released sometime this month.

I wish this was the radio single- it's the type of song I love to hear from her.

This is definitely not an official single for radio (just yet). I would suspect they're not gonna punt Platinum just yet and will release another single from that project.

As much as I love this and wish it could be a radio single, I also wouldn't really like the idea of releasing this in the middle of the Platinum era after only three singles. Basically another situation like what Justin Moore did last fall, except I'm sure Miranda could get away with going back to the album for another single or two after R&W ran its course and be just fine. Not really a fan of that idea though, so as much as I love this, I'm not hoping for a radio release. Shame it couldn't have come out at a different time.

I don't think "Roots and Wings" will be a single for Miranda, and it'd be a bit foolish (IMO), considering there are so many single-worthy tracks left on "Platinum."
This, on the other hand, is so dull and lifeless to me, and I'm a big Miranda fan.
It's fine for the intended purpose (a commercial), but releasing it as a single over some of the stellar choices on "Platinum" would be a huge mistake.
