Brianc2008's Top 70 Week 28 For Week of December 21-27, 2015
In the last week of the Brianc2008's Chart for 2015, Rumour Mill by Rudimental featuring Will Heard and Anne-Marie continues to go strong claiming a second week on top. Macklemore's pairing with Ed Sheeran is continuing to pay off as well as Growing Up climbs two spots to the runner-up position. Might this be the first rap song to claim the top of these charts? Hello by Adele slides a spot, but consider for a minute that she's spent all 8 weeks of the song's life in the top 4. Impressive. I Am by Awolnation rises to 4 and Miley Cyrus's Hands of Love reaches the top 5. Perhaps another challenger or two on the horizon. Cam's Burning House continues to blaze on as the song climbs two spots to number 6. Alessia Cara's Here gets another burst of life and rises up three spots. DNA by Clarksville, Tennessee native Clairity also travels up three. Plunging from its number 3 peak is Old Dominion whose Break Up With Him falls to number 9. And rounding out the top 10 is Ellie Goulding whose On My Mind is a call back to Ed Sheeran based on their failed relationship. Further on in the chart, Demi Lovato continues to crush it as her Confident rises to number 11 this week. And with the ascension of Scotty McCreery's Southern Belle to the top 20 this week, 4 of the 20 songs are country based. Although the chances of Old Dominion are sunk, might one of those other three be the first country song to chart on top? Duran Duran, Rudimental, and Justin Bieber all share the fast riser this week as each of the three songs goes up 5 spots apiece. The top newcomer is X Factor artist Fleur East whose Sax reaches number 47 and bests out four other new entries, notably a new rap song from Fetty Wap and a cover of Leslie Gore's You Don't Own Me. That should do it for now. Thanks for tuning in and look forward to some big changes in next week's chart! And don't forget the top 70 of 2015 special coming soon! Brianc2008's Top 100 Week 29 For Week of December 28, 2015-January 3, 2016For 28 weeks, this chart has been going but some musical genres have been rather unrepresented in the top spot so far. There hadn't been a country song on top. Neither had there been a rock song on the top charts. Nor a rap song (I know some will mention Natalie La Rose's Around the World, but that's primarily an R&B song with one rapped verse). Until now. Macklemore finds success at the top of the charts with the primarily rapped Growing Up with a reflective look at his newborn daughter Sloane. Ed Sheeran, who finds himself in the top spot for the second time, contributes to the sung chorus. But they'll have some stiff competition for number one next week as Cam is hoping to be the first country musician to top the charts with Burning House. She's at number 2. In number 3, Alessia Cara makes a dramatic climb with Here. Hello by Adele refuses to leave the top 5 as the song slips a notch to number 4. And at fifth, Demi Lovato's Confidence breaks into the top 10 in style. The second five is led by Rumour Mill, the previous chart topper by Rudimental with Anne-Marie and Will Heard. DNA by Clairity rises a notch at number 7 while just behind her is the Ellie Goulding song On My Mind. In ninth is the second song to break into the top 10 this week which is Taylor Swift's Wildest Dreams. And rounding out the top 10 is AWOLNATION with I Am falling from its peak last week of number 4. Outside the top 10, Robert DeLong finds his 1980's themed Don't Wait Up on the verge of the top 10 as it rises 18-12. Duran Duran lands its first top 20 as Pressure Off rises 26-20. Red Sun Rising gets the fastest riser of the week honors as the song surges 42-32 and Coleman Hell has the hotshot debut as Two Heads lands at number 50. If you notice, there's a lot of green this week as we expand to 100 songs. I hope to incorporate more of my favorites as well as incorporate more tunes in the genres of rock, rap, country, pop, R&B, and international. Hopefully, you'll enjoy looking at the chart as much as I do when making it. Thanks and we'll see you next time. Dropouts: None Superlatives:Fast Riser: Red Sun Rising---The Otherside (42-32) Fast Faller: Jarryd James---Give Me Something (19-42) Hotshot Debut: Coleman Hell---2 Heads (50) Bubbling Under: Debuts:Trivia:Tags:

Brianc2008's Top 100 Chart Week 30 For Week of January 4-10, 2016
NOTE: It's been a long time. Apologies to all, but school/work/life has sort of interfered with this chart. But I'm going to start catching this up this week. Don't expect any trivia/bubbling under until I get myself caught up.Anyway, this chart has been around for over half a year. While some genres have been popular (dance/pop), there's been a few that have never topped this chart. Like rap. Or country. Or a foreign song. The reason I bring this up is that Cam has broken through and brought country its first chart topper with Burning House. Although the genre's gotten close a couple of times (Loving You Easy by the Zac Brown Band and Break Up With Him by Old Dominion both peaked at 2), this is an historic occasion. Inside the Top 5, Here by Alessia Cara reaches a new high of 2 and has a chance of topping the chart next week. Usually songs that have been up 18 weeks would be falling, but Here is proving to be an exception. Demi Lovato's Confident continues its quick climb rising up 3 spots to number 3. Adele's Hello proves to be persistent holding serve at 4. Might we see a sixth week on top for the British singer? Rounding out the top 5 is last week's topper Growing Up with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis with Ed Sheeran. The second five features three women rising to new peaks. Clairity's DNA reaches a new high of 6 while Ellie Goulding climbs to 7 with On My Mind and Taylor Swift croons to 8 with Wildest Dreams. The bottom two spots are top 10 newcomers as Robert DeLong's Don't Wait Up soars 12-9 and Drake's Hotline Bling goes 13-10. Outside the top 10, congrats are in order for Andy Grammer as his Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah) breaks the largest rise in history going up 35 spots to number 52. He's one of several artists showing big gains. 21 Pilots climbs 20 spots to reach a new peak of 38. And Grace with rapper G-Eazy rises 21 spots to land at 34. Five new songs make their way onto the countdown led by Alan Walker's Faded featuring Iselin Solheim. It bests tunes featuring chart veterans Jess Glynne, Justin Bieber, and Alabama Shakes and chart newcomer Format B. Thanks for watching/tuning in. And hopefully the next chart will be done tonight or tomorrow. Superlatives: Fast Riser: Andy Grammer---Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah) (87-52) *RECORD Fast Faller: Carrie Underwood---Smoke Break (59-79) Hotshot Debut: Alan Walker w Iselin Solheim---Faded (58) Dropouts:Carly Rae Jepsen---Run Away With Me (LW 34/PK 1/ WK 22) 5xPlatinum Elle King---Ex's and Oh's (LW 41/PK 1/WK 20) 5xPlatinum Jarryd James---Give Me Something (LW 42/PK 3/WK 22) 6xPlatinum Drake w Future---Big Rings (LW 82/PK 82/WK 1) Janet Jackson---Unbreakable (LW 88/PK 88/WK 1) Debuts:Alan Walker w Iselin Solheim---FadedJess Glynne---Take Me HomeFormat B---ChunkyJustin Bieber---Love YourselfAlabama Shakes---Sound and Color

Brianc2008's Top 100 Chart Week 31 For Week of January 11-17, 2016
While the other seasons of the year bring about numerous occasions for socializing (fall sports, spring break, summer barbecues), winter is notorious outside of a couple of weeks in December for drawing within yourself. Of not going out and partying. Which is appropriate as in its 19th week, Alessia Cara finally lands number one for the antisocial anthem Here. It tops the chart in a week where female performers hold 8 of the top 10 spots. #YasQueen Let's take a look at the top 10. After Here, Demi Lovato and her song Confident revs up to number 2, posing a threat for the Canadian singer next week. Adele's Hello rises up to number 3 and Clairity's DNA goes up two notches to number 4, giving the Clarksville, TN native her first top 5 hit. Rounding things out is fellow two spot jumper Ellie Goulding with On My Mind, her side of the Ed Sheeran dating fiasco. Previous chart topper Cam cedes five spots to number 6 with Burning House. At number 7 is the first of two male acts on the chart as electronica alternative act Robert DeLong rises two notches to his current peak. Ariana Grande, while receiving a bit of help from an uncredited (at least on Billboard, but not here) Jamie Foxx, glides up four notches to number 8 with Focus. And rounding out the bottom half of the top 10 is a pair of country acts. Kelsea Ballerini lands her first top 10 as Dibs rises 4 spots to number 9. And Scotty McCreery only becomes the second American Idol winner to reach the top 10 as Southern Belle rings up four spots to number 10 (Kelly Clarkson ended up peaking at number 2 with Invincible). Outside the top 10 this week, In the Night surges up 3 to number 12 as it appears ready to enter the top 10 this week. Stressed Out by 21 Pilots wins the fast riser award by pivoting up 18 notches to number 20. The hotshot debut of the week belongs to the Chainsmokers along with Rozes with the floral tune titled Roses. They beat out entries with Lukas Graham, Years and Years, Charlie Puth, and Taeyeon with Verbal Jint. Thanks for tuning in and we'll see you soon. Dropouts:Old Dominion---Break Up With Him (LW 45/PK 3/WKS 21)---4x Platinum Carrie Underwood---Smoke Break (LW 79/PK 15/WKS 18)---3x Platinum Kygos w Parson James---Stole the Show (LW 81/PK 6/WKS 20)---4x Platinum Nick Jonas---Levels (LW 82/PK 1/WKS 18)---4x Platinum The Weeknd---The Hills (LW 87/PK 22/WKS 19)---2x Platinum Superlatives:Fast Riser: 21 Pilots---Stressed Out (38-20) Fast Faller: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis w A Whole Bunch of Others---Downtown (69-84) Hotshot Debut: The Chainsmoker w Rozes---Roses (56) Debuts:The Chainsmokers w Rozes---Roses Lukas Graham---7 Years Years and Years---Eyes Shut Charlie Puth---One Call Away Taeyeon w Verbal Jint---ITags:crystalphnx surfy Daniel Collins @jakelmmrs44 MTSChart21

I am so glad that Alessia Cara managed to get that #1. Now, I guess I'll wait and see where Stressed Out ended up peaking.

Here's a trick if you want to put +1 for songs that gained one position. Instead of typing +1, type in '+1
I hope it works for you :) Oh, and for songs that stayed at the same position, put '=

Speaking of What Am I Doin', why did it take me so long to update? Sigh.
On the plus side, I've been keeping my charts up to date on paper and laptop so I can start catching this up to date.
A few things that might come across as spoilers:
14 number ones heading into this week including one that has broken Hello's record. 2 songs that broke the record for most weeks on the chart 1 song that went from my bottom 20 of 2015 and ended up charting A more diverse set of songs A more simplified chart
Catch-up begins now!

Brianc2008's Top 100 Chart Week 32 For Week of January 18-24, 2016
Top 10:This week finds former Disney Channel alum Demi Lovato (Sonny with a Chance, Camp Rock) landing on top with Confident as the song goes 2-1. Women make 7 of this week's top 10 as well as 6 of the top 7, perhaps leading to some more confidence in the future. Rising back up 3-2 is Adele's Hello which has spent all 12 of its week in the top 5. Ellie Goulding's On My Mind climbs 5-3 as the song is a potential threat in the future. Robert DeLong finds himself the lone male in the top 7 as Don't Wait Up soars 7-4. Nickelodeon alum Ariana Grande surges 8-5 as Focus (featuring Jamie Foxx) rounds out the top 5.
In the next 5, we find Kelsea Ballerini as her Dibs jumps 9-6. Last week's number one Here by Alessia Cara plunges 1-7 to match Fight Song in the largest drop from the top spot. American Idol winner Scotty McCreery's Southern Belle rings 10-8 marking only the second male lead in the top 10. He's joined by sole new top 10 entry In the Night by The Weeknd as the song flies up 12-9. Rounding out the top 10 is Clairity as DNA plummets 4-10.
Outside the Top 10: Some songs continue to surge outside the top 10 this week as Meghan Trainor and John Legend rise 13-11 with Like I'm Gonna Lose You. 21 Pilots are rising like a rocket is strapped to them as Stressed Out surges 20-16. Rapper Missy Elliott and cohort Pharrell crash the top 20 as Where They From soars 25-20. It may be a good Omen for Disclosure and Sam Smith as that song rallies 51-41 this week, earning the Fastest Riser title.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Dreams by Beck dives 27-52 this week earning the Fastest Faller award. A light week for new entries as Ace of Spades by Motorhead earns the Hotshot Debut honors at 68, in tribute to the untimely passing of lead singer Lemmy. Spades beats out new entries by 99 Souls (with some help from Destiny's Child and Brandy) and Mike Posner.
Thanks for reading this far and enjoy the chart:

Brianc2008's Top 100 Chart Week 33 For Week of January 25-31, 2016
Top 10: Demi Lovato is on a roll as Confident remains at number one for a second week. Likewise remaining at number 2 is Adele as Hello awaits poised perhaps to steal a record sixth week at the top. Outside the top 2, there's some serious turbulence as the top 10 adds 4 new entries this week. Taking advantage is Robert DeLong as Don't Wait Up rises 4-3 and Ariana Grade as Focus reaches a new peak, climbing 5-4. Rounding out the top 5 this week is The Weeknd whose In the Night might be a sleeper for that next number one as it surges 9-5.
Outside the top 5, we find last week's number 3 On My Mind by Ellie Goulding as it slips 3-6. The top new entry to the top 10 this week is Like I'm Gonna Lose You, a duet by Meghan Trainor and John Legend which soars 11-7. We welcome 1980s legendary band Duran Duran as Pressure Off, a song featuring Janelle Monae, flies forward 13-8. Likewise, a greeting to Tinie Tempah, a rapper best known for Written in the Stars, as his song Turn the Music Louder booms 14-9 featuring the KDA and Katie B. Rounding out the top 10 is country artist Kacey Musgraves whose Dime Store Cowgirl ropes up 15-10.
Outside the Top 10: A quartet of songs find themselves in fair to decent shape to reach the top 10 in the next few weeks. Stressed Out by 21 Pilots climbs 16-11 this week followed by previous chart topper One Direction whose latest tune Perfect rises 17-12. Halestorm, a rock band who reached the top 5 with Amen, finds I Am the Fire rising 18-14 this week. And Where They From, a collaboration between Missy Elliott and Pharrell zips forward 20-15.
Runnin' (Lose It All), a collaboration between Naughty Boy, Beyonce and Arrow Benjamin lands this week's Fastest Riser as the song glides 31-24. In contrast, top 5 hit Hands of Love by Miley Cyrus gets the Fastest Faller dubious honors as the song plunges 49-62. There was four new entries this week, led by Space Oddity at number 68 which honors the recent passing of David Bowie. Oddity bests entries by Chris Stapleton, another David Bowie song best known for being in Pretty Woman, and Justin Timberlake.
It's tragic to lose an icon like this. Rest in Peace, Mr. Bowie:
