Inspired in the recent Aaron Tippin thread. I missed Shania's songs when I originally did this, lol - so this list is slightly adjusted from earlier. I'm not too familiar with the lower charting songs in 1995 as this was right before I really started getting into music in general (I was just 5 years old at the time). However there was plenty of hits that I could chose from. Favorites: 1. Jeff Carson - "The Car" 2. BlackHawk - "I'm Not Strong Enough To Say No" 3. Patty Loveless - "You Don't Even Know Who I Am" 4. Tim McGraw - "I Like it, I Love It" 5. Little Texas - "Amy's Back In Austin" 6. Shania Twain - "Any Man Of Mine" 7. David Lee Murphy - "Dust On The Bottle" 8. Rhett Akins - "That Ain't My Truck" 9. Shania Twain - "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?" 10. John Michael Montgomery - "No Man's Land" 11. John Michael Montgomery - "Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)" 12. Daryle Singletary - "I Let Her Lie" 13. Tim McGraw - "Refried Dreams" 14. David Ball - "Look At What Followed Me Home" 15. Ty Herndon - "What Mattered Most" 16. Tracy Lawrence - "If The World Had A Front Porch" 17. Reba McEntire - "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter" 18. Randy Travis - "The Box" 19. BlackHawk - "Down In Flames" 20. Neal McCoy - "If I Was A Drinkin' Man" 21. Faith Hill - "Let's Go To Vegas" 22. Alan Jackson - "Song For The Life" 23. Mark Chesnutt - "Goin' Through The Big D" 24. George Strait - "Adalida" 25. Martina McBride - "Safe In the Arms Of Love" 26. Collin Raye - "My Kind Of Girl" 27. Toby Keith - "Upstairs Downtown" 28. Jason McCoy - "Learning A Lot About Love" (had to include this) 29. Neal McCoy - "For A Change" 30. Travis Tritt - "Tell Me I Was Dreaming" 31. Alison Krauss & Union Station - "When You Say Nothing At All" 32. Billy Ray Cyrus - "Storm In The Heartland" 33. Tracy Lawrence - "Texas Tornado" 34. Patty Loveless - "Here I Am" 35. Shenandoah w/Alison Krauss - "Somewhere In The Vicinity Of The Heart" 36. Jeff Carson - "Not On Your Love" 37. BlackHawk - "That's Just About Right" 38. George Ducas - "Lipstick Promises" 39. Aaron Tippin - "That's As Close As I'll Get To Loving You" 40. Mark Chesnutt - "Gonna Get A Life" I could easily keep going. :)

There were very few songs that year that I truly disliked. You have a good list Sabre14, although I'm not familiar with Jason McCoy.
These are my top 10 favorites.
1. The Mavericks - I Should Have Been True 2. Confederate Railroad - When He Was My Age 3. Sammy Kershaw - Southbound 4. Brooks & Dunn - You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone 5. The Mavericks - All That Heaven Will Allow 6. John Anderson - Mississippi Moon 7. Bryan White - Someone Else's Star 8. Mark Chesnutt - Down in Tennessee 9. Kenny Chesney - All I Need To Know 10. John Anderson - Bend It Until It Breaks

Oh wow, a lot of mine would be retroactive. I barely remember 1995-1996 musically.

Most Overplayed Songs: "I Can Love You Like That," JMM I still have nightmares from being a little kid and hearing "I Can Love You Like That" over and over again. I was like 5 when that song came out and at that age I didn't know the songs nor the artists, but I do know every time my Mom and Dad would take me out, that song would always be playing.

Again, a lot of these are retroactive. Usual rules apply: the song has to have peaked within the year.
TOP 1. Blackhawk - "That's Just About Right" 2. 4 Runner - "Cain's Blood" 3. Randy Travis - "The Box" 4. Tim McGraw - "Can't Be Really Gone" 5. Mary Chapin Carpenter - "House of Cards" 6. Sammy Kershaw - "Southbound" 7. Shenandoah/Alison Krauss - "Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart" 8. George Ducas - "Lipstick Promises" 9. John Berry - "Standing on the Edge of Goodbye" 10. Alan Jackson - "Song for the Life" 11. John Michael Montgomery - "No Man's Land" 12. John Anderson - "Bend It Unti lIt Breaks" 13. James House - "This Is Me Missing You" 14. Rhett Akins - "That Ain't My Truck" 15. Jeff Carson - "The Car" 16. Tracy Lawrence - "Texas Tornado" 17. Toby Keith - "Upstairs Downtown" 18. Bryan White - "Rebecca Lynn" (probably one of the only times that a boyish voice has made a poentially sappy song better instead of worse) 19. David Lee Murphy - "Dust on the Bottle" 20. Reba - "The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter" 21. Martina McBride - "Safe in the Arms of Love" 22. Neal McCoy - "If I Was a Drinkin' Man" 23. Clay Walker - "This Woman and This Man" 24. Doug Supernaw - "What'll You Do About Me" 25. Diamond Rio - "Bubba Hyde" 26. Pam Tillis - "Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life)" 27. Alabama - "Give Me One More Shot" 28. Doug Stone - "Little Houses" 29. Ty Herndon - "What Mattered Most" 30. Sawyer Brown - "(This Thing Called) Wantin' and Havin' It All" 31. Emilio - "It's Not the End of the World" 32. Faith Hill - "Let's Go to Vegas" 33. Perfect Stranger - "You Have the Right to Remain Silent" 34. Collin Raye - "My Kind of Girl" 35. Lorrie Morgan - "Back in Your Arms Again" 36. Little Texas - Amy's Back in Austin" 37. Aaron Tippin - "That's as Close as I'll Get to Loving You" 38. Joe Diffie - "I'm in Love with a Capital 'U'" (so sue me) 39. Dwight Yoakam - "Nothing" 40. Vince Gill - "Go Rest High on That Mountain"
BOTTOM 1. Garth Brooks - "She's Every Woman" 2. Vince Gill - "Which Bridge to Cross (Which Bridge to Burn)" (zzzzz...) 3. Hal Ketchum - "Stay Forever" (his only clunker in my opinion) 4. Tracy Byrd - "Love Lessons" 5. probably a lot of sub-top 40 junk that Blair Garner played that has long since been forgotten

Anyone remember Emilio? His name came up this morning on a local station when they were discussing Rick Trevino and the different direction his label took him in the 90's versus the actual vision he had. Emilio had a couple hits in the mid 90's including this one from 1995.
