Okay. I'm 200% convinced "Choctaw County Affair" would slay as a single in every way. Imagine a performance like this one at the Grammys (with more movement)...
I don't think it will happen though. Also, from videos alone this tour looks like it would be - hands down - my favorite. Can't believe I'll be missing it.

So I was at the show in Greensboro last night, and it was truly incredible! I've been a bit critical of the majority of the [i[Storyteller[/i] album thus far, and although I still don't enjoy it as much as Blown Away, a few songs really clicked with me in a new way after hearing them live and seeing Carrie perform them. The biggest song that fits this is "Choctaw County Affair" - I always felt that I just couldn't really connect with the characters in the song, and while I loved Carrie's unique vocal delivery of the song, it was always just an alright song in my opinion. However, after hearing Carrie perform it live, I'm sold on it. It's still not my favorite on the album, but its in the top 4 now (Heartbeat, What I Never Knew..., Dirty Laundry), and I'd be on-board with it as a single, although I do still think it would be a bit risky. BUT THE MUSIC VIDEO for it could be incredible.
Anyway, the show was incredible. I purchased tickets late, so I didn't have great seats, but I almost liked having the birds-eye-view for this show because you could see all the theatrics and effects better from far away. My favorite moment was "What I Never Knew I Always Wanted" and seeing the video montage. I cried. But holy hell did she slay "I Will Always Love You". Carrie was incredible, I just wish she had openers that were halfway decent. The Swon Brothers were awful, I've never liked them, and Easton sounded waaaaaay off on every high note he sang last night. All his music is also super forgettable to me. I couldn't think of a single song of his other than his current single when someone near me asked what he sang before the show.
PS, after 11 years, I finally got to meet Carrie and the meet and greet last night. What an incredible human - so sweet and personable and 500% more gorgeous in person, which I didn't think was possible. So it was an incredible evening for sure!

What an incredible show! I probably saw you and didn't know it. I was standing next to the meet and greet line, in my line waiting for them to open the doors! My seats were Row A of lower level. Here is IWALY I found on Youtube.

^^ Sounds like an amazing experience for you, zaclord!!
I really hope that if Carrie does come over to my side of the world for this tour, she'd bring over at least some of the elements from the US concerts.

I was higher up, but I actually enjoyed them because I could see all the production!

OMG she needs to perform "CCA" along with the harmonica at the ACM Awards! It's the exact kind of thing that would get her a huge standing ovation and potentially go viral.

I don't want her to waste it on the ACMs. Also, this has to be one of her best vocals ever. She nails this song.

I don't want her to waste it on the ACMs Where else is she going to do it, though? It's obviously not happening on the Grammys, and the only other thing that passes the Grammys and ACMs in viewers are the CMAs. That's a possibility, but they are 9 months away. The album will have sort of run its course by then.

Choctaw County Affair was THE ONE for me on first listen. I think it would smash. Call me crazy, but I could see it getting crossover play at Pop.

Just a quick comment... Carrie, PLEASE do the Super Bowl halftime show next year, pretty please!!! She has too. A country act needs to do it and Carrie is really the only one with enough appeal to fans of other genres of music. She definitely has the confidence for it now.

I've heard the argument before that the reason they hardly ever have country artists do half-time is because most country fans are already watching the Super Bowl, and they're trying to pull in viewers who otherwise wouldn't be watching. I'd love to see Carrie do it, though. I think especially after doing the in-the-round setup during The Storyteller Tour, she'll be even more confident in handling that crowd.

I was just coming in to see if anyone posted this. I love the shout-out for the iPod Shuffle, lol. Interesting way to get the song ("Smoke Break") introduced to radio.

Carrie is 5'3", she's said it a few times. I guess that makes him look even taller. One inch. Maybe Carrie will be wearing really high heels.

Any bets on the third single? I'm hoping they take a chance and go with CCA. However, my gut has me thinking RR
