If I don't get "Dirty Laundry" or "Church Bells" as singles... I'll hurt someone. "Mexico" needs it too. Those first two seem like the most obvious choices for a 3rd single. I would also be surprised if she picked a song that's not currently in the tour set list as a single, and both of those tracks are in it. The other Storyteller tracks in the show sound much less like radio singles tbh. (Maybe "Renegade Runaway" but that's also like the fourth iteration of that exact type of song for her...) I don't really see how "Renegade Runaway" is like anything she's sang before. The production is different and so is the theme. If anything, the other 2 songs you mentioned are more in line with her past work, specifically "Church Bells". And don't get me wrong, I love "Church Bells" and I'm actually hoping it's the next single.

(Maybe a different theme but I'm talking overall song sound and structure.)

Jay Joyce's production is different than Mark Bright's and you can hear it in the song. It's also not a boy basher.

Yeah, I've never quite understood the comparisons of "Renegade Runaway" to "Cowboy Casanova"/"Good Girl". I guess all three are "warning" type songs, but RR is still very different thematically and sonically, to me at least.
I'm fairly certain "Dirty Laundry" will be the next single, though. And yay to "Chaser" getting a UK release! I was worried that song was going to be ignored all era. So happy we're going to get some live performances of it. Hopefully she'll add it to the North American set list too.

Jay Joyce's production on RR is fantastic. LOVE it. That is the only thing that stood out to me when I first heard the song. But aside from the production, its descriptive lyrics goes nowhere and does nothing, imo. I like it better than Cowboy Casanova but to me, this is almost like the female version of it. And if even some of her fans feel that RR is too much like CC and GG (gosh, even the acronyms are all double letters lol), I would imagine the similarities will be even more apparent to casual listeners, since CC and GG are two of Carrie's bigger hits.

Translated really well live. Good first run of the song, and she killed the back end of it.

The back end of it was absolutely killer. I really hope this gets added to the North American set list. It translates surprisingly well live.

I know this isn't quite reliable, but on the Storyteller Wikipedia page, I went to edit the list of singles to try and add "Chaser" since it's getting an international release. When I clicked "edit" it appears someone already added it as single #3 with a release date of March 7 in the UK. But below that, "Church Bells" was listed as single #4 (3rd single in the US) with a release date of March 21.
You can only see this if you try to edit the page, so does that mean it's under review still?

Is Carrie not doing any promo while in Europe right now other than the concerts? I was thinking she's go on a talk show with a televised performance of "Chaser" or at least a couple interviews.
Does her label have any power to promote "Chaser" internationally? Or are they just sort of giving it an adds date.

Interesting...I just went to check the album's Wiki page again and the release date for "Church Bells" now says April 4th.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but is Carrie going to appear on Idol's last season? I'm assuming they're saving her for the finale.

Nothing confirmed yet officially as far as I know, but I'm sure she will be there for the finale. I'm really hoping they have her as a mentor and the contestants have to sing songs from her catalog like they did for Kelly last year, but I won't hold my breath.

Wouldn't that be setting the contestants up to fail?

Not confirmed but she has the date off from the tour and the surrounding tour dates are in California and Nevada . She will definitely be there. She has always publicically displayed her appreciation for idol and it really was her kickstart and she's well aware and thankful for it. I'd be shocked if she wasn't there in the front row with the other winners giving 1 or 2 performances. I think the nearby tour dates and the fact that the finale night is free all but confirms it.

Especially given the timing of Kelly's pregnancy, I would be shocked if Carrie weren't at the Idol finale. They have to have at least one of their two huge success stories front and center.

It's probably started by the same hater who has been commenting on Carrie's articles and videos using multiple accounts all these time. Some people are so beyond disgusting with their hatred and insecurity, I don't even have the words to describe them.

^^ Great interview- especially the discussion about the paucity of female artists on country radio. After all these years, she is just as humble and personable as when she won Idol.
Regarding 'Chaser' acoustic: LOVED it. I love how she sang the verse rather delicately before opening up into the choruses. I am desiring that this song be pushed to Hot AC at least, because it would fit the format well. IMO, she is still one of the most recognizable voices on radio.

Just direct messaged the woman who bullied Carrie and bullied her back. #sorrynotsorry Getting a rise out of you (and others) is what they want... don't fall for it. Carrie is a big girl who is the one of the most successful acts in all of music right now and is a very strong person. She can handle it.
