This was the fourth single from his album, "Unorthodox Jukebox." It was written and produced by The Smeezingtons with additional production by Mark Ronson, Jeff Bhasker and Emile Hayne. Up until that point, it was his first official single to miss the top 10 at pop radio (peaking at #11) and the Hot 100 (peaking at #22). I still like this song a lot, but in hindsight, I can see why it didn't do as well as some of his other stuff. I do remember his performance of it at the 2013 VMAs being one of the shows highlights though.
There was also a remix released with Pharrell and R. Kelly:

I do like it. It's the 1st song he did on UJ it set the pace for the entire album, became the standard. He didn't even cut the songs that didn't live up to Gorilla. But I kinda wish he saved he melody for better lyrics... BY FAR the best MV from that era... I don't use that remix.
My fav performance:

Huge fan of this. I love everything about this (including the lyrics) and love belting this out lol, it's so fun to sing. His voice is killer in general and I really love it on this. This and "Grenade" are easily my two favorites from him. They're amazing.

Loved this, but I wasn't surprised at how this performed. In fact, I never expected them to release this. It's my second favorite single from the album behind LOOH.

"Gorilla" might be my favorite Bruno Mars song. It's HOT, it sounds Def Leppard-esque. I wish it was bit more beefed-up production wise, but I love it anyway.
The video is cool, too.

I really liked this. Surprised how it "underperformed."
