This was the first single from Kelis' fourth album, "Kelis Was Here." It was produced by Bangladesh. It became her second biggest hit to date in the US, peaking at #16 on the Hot 100. It also peaked at #20 at CHR/Pop, #8 at rhythmic and #11 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart. I thought this was a bit beneath her, musically, but it was definitely catchy.

I thought it was beneath her, but it was still super catchy. I don't think it's aged well though, and I never listen to it anymore.

It's lowkey iconic but it was definitely way beneath her as an artist, and one of the weakest on the album.

LOL. I was singing this to myself on the way home from work today and then I come in here to find a topic on it.

This was a bit disappointing on first listen compared to her past work, but I grew to like it for what it is.
That video is so painfully mid-00s though, just so...uneventful.

This one is such a mood. I love it. Kelis' delivery and attitude are sexy as hell.
In terms of remixes, I was all about the Scumfrog mix. It turns this into a dancefloor monster.

This was so different from her Neptunes work. She went into a more hip hop direction with this song. It's undeniably catchy.
Thanks to this song and Rick Ross' stuff, "boss" became the catchphrase for the rest of the decade.
