Just to defend that Alt station in Miami, they're starting up a new station in a city that's never had an Alt station - ever - so they're taking a huge risk - they've got to play it safe and play familiar songs until they've got some indication that they're ratings are gonna be okay, otherwise they could be back off the air in another month
KROQ, on the other hand, has no excuse except that they're run by CBS who hate Alternative stations (and also have no idea how to program them), and would probably love to turn it into a Hot AC

91x also added this one. and curiously enough they stopped playing their "We don't have to follow any corporate playlist" catchphrase. hmmm. maybe someone got offended? It was Heaven while it lasted.

Their ratings were going down, so they probably figured out that they have to do what almost every other station in the country has to do (unfortunately), which is play songs with high callout scores

Yeah, this is boring. I actually liked Riptide and Mess of Mine at first until they got played to death on the radio, but this does nothing for me. I've only heard Fire and the Flood a few of times, but it's yet to make an impression on me.

He does have unique vocals. I often wonder what it would like if he tried an Indie pop style or New Wave. Robert DeLong style. That was actually his debut release? Good song. Wonder why it got such embarrasing peaks? A whole different side to George. Funny how his most Alternative sounding song didn't chart in favor of his folky ones?

I guess it's "nice" - but I feel like his tone is so boring that it sounds like he's settling for a girl he's really not that into
When he says "Anywhere I go there you are," IMO the way he sings it it sounds like he's sick of her

Maybe that's what the song is about. That would be a fun lyrical twist.

Maybe there's layers to Vance Joy that no one knew about.

Not only did "Molecules" go recurrent, but thanks to this news, I am now down to 2 songs I actually like in that Alt top 10. "Nightlite never really struck the right cord with me, so that leaves me with "Mess Around" and "Ghosts Of Beverly Drive" to cheer for.

Anyways, That was the best news yet. I woulda brought "Mercy' back in there, but its not my chart.

Three consecutive alt top 10s from Vance Joy, good for him.
