The "debate" sorta still rages but it's a easy one for me. These two analyze them for me. Career, hit making, talent, music, impact.
which one do you think is the better artist.

JT is probably more relevant today but Usher had a greater impact as a whole.
I prefer JT but both are good artists.

For me the answer is remedial but there are people who seem to overrate Justin and his impact because well he is a pop artist. Sure usher is a pop star but he is mainly looked as a r&b artist.
It was a love affair that started with this song and he is right up there with very few artists for me who released one hot song after another or decades that I adored.

Justin Timberlake.
I used to like Usher but I feel his material has been devolving. I mean, what was "I Don't Mind"? The lyrics are so basic. "Shawty, I don’t mind If you dance on a pole. That don’t make you a ho." I can't even.

Yeah, Usher lately has been serving me generic dust. It's kind of ruining his legacy for me... JT has only served me perfection in his albums. And JT is more daring in his music styles.

Usher for me. The best thing JT has done is properly curate his career. Only releasing 3.5 albums, most of it is solid, whereas Usher has his share of misses. But Usher's best stuff is really good. And he's a way better singer than JT. And I attribute most of the good of JT's music to Timbaland anyway.

I can't at people saying Usher's music is more generic when JT's last album was one big snoozefest.

Usher's last good album, for me, was RAYMOND VS RAYMOND. and a solid album that was. I haven't paid attention to Justin timbershit since futuresexlovesounds (which I really only liked a couple songs rom) and even then he was lucky to get my attention after sexually assaulting Janet on stage and running and hiding behind his white privilege.
So yeah, Usher.

Hmm. "Better artist" is a different question than "bigger impact/icon/legend/whatever." My answer is the same for both, but I do want to point that out.
Just from a numbers point of view there's not an argument as to who has had the bigger impact and better career overall, although people will try their damnedest to take a s**t on a 22-year career based on the last four years of it. Usher's career is twice as long as Justin's solo career. Accordingly, he has released over twice as much material as Justin has and has only ever taken two real L's (his debut and Looking 4 Myself). L4M was 19 years in, and even despite the album's commercial floppiness produced hits on two formats AND was the best-selling r&b album of that year. Now, Justin could maybe win this part of the argument if he would stop acting like his *NSync past didn't happen in an alternate universe, but if he's going to go out of his way to distance his solo career from his former group then why shouldn't I do the same.
Meanwhile, if Usher were purely a pop artist we wouldn't even be having this discussion. I had so much more typed up but I think that says more than a mouthful, doesn't it?
As artists, I prefer Usher but I always enjoyed Justin as an entertainer and can understand if one prefers him instead. They have some things in common, but each has some different things to offer as well.
