This was released as the first single from Rob Thomas' solo album, "...Something to Be," released in 2005. It peaked at #9 at CHR/Pop, #1 at Hot AC, #1 at AC and #9 on the Hot 100. British group, Rixton, sampled it in 2014 with their song, "Me and My Broken Heart." If I'm not mistaken, Rob wasn't credited as a writer at first, but they eventually credited him to avoid legal troubles. Anyway, this is a great song.

Eh. This burned on me really quickly, and even now it sounds a bit corny.
I'm a pretty big Matchbox fan, but I never cared for Rob's solo material, except for "Ever The Same."

Love this and the ...Something To Be record in general. It's the darker and edgier Rob that I would love to see back again in full swing. I've always been a major fan of his vocals. He might not have the widest range, but his tone is incredible and he has such a unique quality to his voice.

Loved it then, love it now, love the Rixton cover.
Definitely among my top 10 of 2005.

This was the perfect lead single for his solo career. Happy this turned out to be such a big hit. And I think it still stands as the strangest run on the pop chart that I've ever witnessed. It made that top 10 peak so much sweeter haha

This was an excellent lead single from a great solo debut album. I wasn't a huge fan of his work as Matchbox 20 (just a handful of singles and album tracks) and Tabitha's Secret. Jason Nevins did a superb Dance/Rock remix of it which got a lot of airplay on the Dance stations and in the clubs. I also liked the private mix Junior Vasquez did.
