Glad Keith's debut week for this album did better than the last one. Still was hoping for more though.

whoa! Heidi sold more than Keith? Yep. That sure surprised me. Really glad Heidi is having success on her own. I really like her voice. :)

I think one of the reasons that Heidi sold more was because of the fan base that she earned when she was with Trick Pony....Keith I don't think is that well known, plus, from snippets I've heard, he can't sing to save his life, but that part is just my opinion.

That was quick!
I'm starting to wonder if Keith will even get his turn at #1.
If Taylor pushes through with the September release of her lead-off single, she could have 3 songs simultaneously on the chart.

I think it's a little sad 3 of the 4 new songs this week are album tracks/non-singles. I can somewhat justify the Taylor Swift debut. But I don't understand why some stations are so quick to put album tracks into rotation and hesitate on singles. Have they run out of songs to play??
The high debut for Dierks Bentley almost makes me think it might be a single. It'd be nice if we knew the station(s) playing it.

i really really hope "Sweet & Wild" is a single, but i don't think it makes sense to wait this long after "Trying To Stop Your Leaving" peaked to release another song. but i would love to see this get an adds date soon and become a big hit and let Sarah Buxton have her first top 10 :)
oh, btw, why wasn't Sarah credited on the song on R&R? she has a solo on it, its not like its just background vocals

Billboard Chart Alert: • Keith Urban snares his first No. 1 on Hot Country Songs in almost three years (and eighth No. 1 overall) as "You Look Good in My Shirt" advances 2-1. He last led with "Better Life" in the fall of 2005. The new No. 1 first appeared on Urban's "Golden Road" set and spent one week on the chart's lower end from unsolicited airplay on the July 3, 2004, chart. The updated version is found on the reissue of his "Greatest Hits" package. • Speaking of the Hot Country Songs chart, Toby Keith lands his 35th top 10 hit with "She Never Cried in Front of Me" . . . In other country news, Kid Rock scores his first top 10 on Hot Country Songs as "All Summer Long" climbs 14-10. The single has now hit the top 10 on Hot Country Songs, Adult Top 40 and Mainstream Top 40. Meanwhile, it rises to No. 15 on the Adult Contemporary chart.

After seeing that "All Summer Long" hit top 10 it made me curious thinking about his other country song "Picture". Does anybody know how far that got on the country charts?

I don't remember the last time a #1 song also had the most increased audience. Actually, that's the first time I've seen that, I think.

Billboard Chart Beat: WAYNE'S MANNER: Jimmy Wayne is the second solo male artist to score his first No. 1 on Hot Country Songs in 2008. "Do You Believe Me Now" (Valory) jumps 4-1. The song is Wayne's sixth chart entry; his previous best was the No. 3 peak of his debut single, "Stay Gone," in July 2003. In May, James Otto collected his first No. 1 hit, when "Just Got Started Lovin' You" spent two weeks in the penthouse. "Do You Believe Me Now" is the 12th No. 1 for a solo male artist this calendar year. Alan Jackson and Brad Paisley have topped the charts twice, and Rodney Atkins, Trace Adkins, George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban have also led the list. There have been three No. 1s by solo females; two by Carrie Underwood and one by Taylor Swift. Two duos have garnered top chart ink: Montgomery Gentry and Sugarland. The last group to have a country No. 1 was Heartland, with "I Loved Her First" in October 2006. Wayne's "Do You Believe Me Now" is the first No. 1 for the independent Valory imprint. A sister label to Big Machine, Valory has had four chart entries to date, all by artists whose first names start with the letter "J." All four songs made their debuts this year. In order of peak position, they are: No. 1: "Do You Believe Me Now," Jimmy Wayne No. 13: "Stronger Woman," Jewel No. 38: "I Do," Jewel No. 50: "Back That Thing Up," Justin Moore

Billboard Chart Alert: • Brad Paisley claims his eighth consecutive non-holiday No. 1 single on Hot Country Songs as "Waitin' On a Woman" ascends to the top slot. His No. 1 streak began with "When I Get Where I'm Going" (featuring Dolly Parton) when it hit No. 1 on March 4, 2006. Since then he's hit the top with "The World," "She's Everything," "Ticks," "Online," "Letter to Me" and "I'm Still a Guy" ... We note the "non-holiday" clause because in late 2006, five holiday tunes from Paisley's then-new Christmas album charted thanks to unsolicited airplay. None of those were considered official singles . . . "Waitin' " is the fifth No. 1 from Paisley's "5th Gear" album, making it the first to produce five No. 1s on Hot Country Songs since Rodney Crowell's "Diamonds and Dirt" in 1988-89.

^Ya know thats just total bunk. I dont think he should be able to claim the whole five #1 singles from one album. Hell, why dont they just add the Urban duet to 5th Gear now too. Then in a few months he can claim SIX #1's from the same album.
UGH!

^Ya know thats just total bunk. I dont think he should be able to claim the whole five #1 singles from one album. to me the rule should be: 1. it counts if its the same exact song version & not redone. 2. it doesnt count if its redone like keith urban did with "you look good in my shirt'.
