I want to post the record "Shaving Cream" into the Nostalgia forum. The record was recorded and originally released in 1946, and was not a hit. But it was released again in 1975, and became a hit. It is only remembered as from 1975 by anyone who remembers it here. Should I post it in the 1940's or in the 1970's?

I hate that decision. I feel uncomfortable putting a 1975 song into the 1940s category. I associate the song with 1975 and feel that's where it belongs. Maybe we should vote again. In most cases, we don't know the original release date of records anyway. This would be too hard to do for older records.

If you didn't ask, you probably could have posted it wherever because 99% of this board doesn't pay attention to 1940s pop music anyway...

Post the original entry in the 40s thread and generate a second post in the 70s section that refers/links to the former. That's how I would have done it. Just saying! But I do completely understand your question and dilemma. :)
