JAM! ... Released in 2004, but I thought this song deserves some space on our board! "Beautiful Things" is a unique lyrical song with stunning vocals. Andain is Josh Gabriel, Mavie Marcos and David Penner. Mavie Marcos, who provides the vocals on "Beautiful Things" is a composer and lyricist. There's a melancholy wistfulness in Mavie's vocals that blends in so well with the Photon Project Radio Mix. The mixes of this song are good, too. I definitely hope this trio will make a full length album. 1. Photon Project Radio Mix 2. Gabriel & Dresden Unplugged Mix 3. Photon Project Remix 4. Josh Gabriel Mix 5. Cor Fijneman Remix 6. Photon Project Dub "Got up early, found something's missing, my only name No one else sees, but I got stuck and soon forever came Stopped pushing on for just a second, then nothing's changed. Who am I this time, where's my name? I guess it crept away. No one's calling for me at the door And unpredicatble, won't bother anymore And silently gets harder to ignore Look straight ahead, there's nothing left to see What's done is done, this life has got its' hold on me Just let it go, what now can never be I forgot that I might see So many beautiful things I forgot that I might need to see what life could bring Take this happy ending away, it's all the same God won't waste this simplicity on possibility Get me up, wake me up, dreams are filling this trace of blame. Frozen still I thought I could stop Now who's gonna wait? Now what do I do? Can I change my mind? Did I think things through? It was once my life--it was my life at one time."

THIS IS AN AWESOME SONG! I love it and have been since I heard it last year on Sirius. I never actually got to chart it though 'cause I didn't know if it was recent or old at the time. Awesome, awesome song though.
I would've sworn there was a topic for this, but I never bothered to post on it or check it.

#8 for 2004 on my chart. I absolutely love this song. The Gabriel and Dresden mix is hypnotically fantastic.
The lyrics are interesting too -- suicidial ideation meets..dance? Deep.

Actually this came out in 2003 and the Gabriel & Dresden remix mentioned above appears on Tiesto's Nyana CD. It got to #5 on my chart two summers ago.

I did not know it was that old. It was getting tons of airplay last year when I first got satellite tv.

satellite plays some old songs.. plus that song is awesome i wouldnt be surprised if they kept playing it like how many almost all dance stations play Delerium ft Sarah Mchlaclan- "Silence" that song is a classic... They have been milking it since 97'

Billboard's Dance chart book only goes up to July 2003, and it wasn't on the chart by that point, so maybe someone else has the answer...

It seems like dance radio is always playing old songs...Not like classic songs, but songs that are like 8 months old are still getting great airplay.

I don't think KTU added this until like March or so of 2004, so that's why I hadn't heard it when it was first released and jumped on the bandwagon later. I would think that this made the Billboard Dance Charts, if Party931 and KTU were playing this in rotation in 2004...what about Energy?

I just found out that "Beautiful Things" reached #1 on Billboard's Club Play Charts ... www.groovetickets.com/bz_art_new.asp?DID=563 [...This week: Gabriel and Dresden. This San Francisco based duo is absolutely blowing up after their 2004's DanceStar Award for "Best Breakthrough DJ's". Additionally, they were nominated for Best producer and best single. They have Eight #1 Billboard Club Play Chart Remixes ( INCLUDING ANDAIN'S "BEAUTIFUL THINGS" , Jewel's "Intuition" and the world smash hit remix of Motorcycle's "When the Rush Comes" which is also #11 at the UK Pop Chart ... ]

This was one of my favorite tracks of last year, it was almost as great as "When The Rush Comes" I think.

lol... I was just listening to this and I was analyzing the lyrics; definitely much deeper than 95% of dance songs I've heard. Whoops, had forgotten that Muscleclub had posted the lyrics.
