My dad is a huge fan of Don Henley. I'll definitely get this to listen on our next road trip!

Sorry for the double post but I just got out of Walmart buying this and Straits new album and I just wanted to say that for anyone interested, there's a deluxe edition of this that also comes with a "Cass County" t-shirt. :)

Sorry for the triple post but I finally got a chance to listen to this once through. At 16 tracks, it will certainly take a while, but it's more than well worth it. This is without a doubt a traditional country record, and it sounds really damn good! My favorites on first listen are: "The Cost Of Living", "A Younger Man", "Train In The Distance", "Take A Picture Of This", "That Old Flame", "Words Can Break Your Heart', and "When I Stop Dreaming". Overall this is a really strong album and a dark horse contender for album of the year IMO.

Really solid total. It was also the #1 selling album of the week.
I still haven't gotten around to getting it yet, but I mean to.

This is probably going to make a lot of folks who already own the album groan, but since it hasn't been mentioned, I thought I'd let everyone know that the Target Deluxe edition has two store-exclusive bonus tracks (in addition to the "regular" deluxe edition).
I'm not very familiar with the Eagles or Don Henley's solo stuff, but this is getting such strong reviews I decided to order it online anyway. Will try to post my thoughts this week when it arrives.

I bought this this past week. So far (after one full listen), I like it but I don't love it. There are some great songs, but there are some filler too. Initially, the collaborations are among my favourites ("That Old Flame" - the best song on the album imo, "Bramble Rose", "When I Stop Dreaming"). I also really like "No Thank You", "Take A Picture Of This", "A Younger Man" and "Where I Am Now". I'm sure that the album as a whole will grow on me over time.
Don's voice is still good, but it has definitely weathered over time.
