I have been traveling alone in Japan for a while and think I just discovered that the TLS album is made for some absolute loneliness. It is, as to first track suggests, a "Therapy" album. And for me this has probably become her third best work ranked after My Life and What's the 411. Her vocals here are also absolutely underrated.

My Life is easily my favorite, followed by 411. I consider TLS her best since Share My World, honestly. Not to say I haven't liked a lot of her 00s material. But song-per-song... TLS is the first time I've wanted to listen to an entire MJB album on repeat since the later 90s. Can't wait to hear what she's got for us next. |

Nice to see the love for TLS album. I thought it was a nice change of pace for Mary and I really liked what they came up with. Some of the songs on that album are my favorite in her catalog.

Mary is my favorite artist of "my generation" and TLS is my least favorite album from her. But I do appreciate the artisty of it and glad she got it out her system.. Now bring me some modern hip-hop soul Mary!!

It's unfortunate that her marriage had to suffer in order for her to musically connect with most of her fans again but it seems that's what it will take. I personally hope she stays in a positive place. With all the shit she has dealt with in her life, she deserves it. Plus, she is older and wiser now and not the Mary she was when she first came out, drinkin and druggin and hard lovin'.

They've been on the rocks for years. If she was going to do a male bashing album it would've been done by now. I really don't expect much improvement over her last few efforts.

I think this one of the few celebrity divorces i didn't want to see (not that I wanted others to divorce but more didn't care either way) because they kinda represented marriage as mature, wholesome couple. Clearly something wasn't right so no shame on moving on but I don't think we going to see her bash Kendu. We might and probably will see more songs from a hurt place. She delivers from that angle much better than Love & Life and happy.

The way Kendu dealt with domestic abuse within his own family unit seems like it could've been the catalyst that Mary thought it was too much for her. Being a victim of it herself and to see his own daughter fight with it and be so passe about it would make me side-eye his ass.
