Queen Mary is at work on her 13th studio album on Capitol Records. So far she's enlisted BAM Alexander (Tyrese, Tank, and most recently Chris Brown's "Autumn Leaves," K. Michelle's "Love Em All," and Tamar's "Free Fallin'"), ROMANS (John Legend, Disclosure, Mary's "Doubt" from The London Sessions), and Timothy "Labrinth" McKenzie--a European act who was the first non-reality show affiliate signed to Simon Cowell's label. She tweeted a couple of months ago that a second helping of The London Sessions was coming, and based on this current roster, she might be holding true to that. Going on tour at the end of this month.

I don't need anymore London Pop Sessions from Mary, unless she makes a great soulful album overseas and brings it to the US hustling like only she can.

Yeah, TLS is going down as one of my least favorite albums by her. I am not here for a second helping of her sleep-walking through another album. She is so lost as an artist IMO and needs someone to take her back to the basics.

I actually never got the chance to hear a Mary album- can someone recommend to me her best works to listen to?

I actually never got the chance to hear a Mary album- can someone recommend to me her best works to listen to? Start off with her debut "What's the 411?" and if you love it, check out how they creatively remixed the songs in the "What's the 411 Remix Album." Then "My Life" to see her growth, and "Share My World" to see her maturity, and finally "Mary" to marvel at her magic.

Her last album was pretty disappointing to me (although I ended up liking a few tracks). I prefer My Life II and the soundtrack to Think Like A Man Too.
Also, I thought The London Sessions should and could've done a lot better commercially, especially overseas, than it did given its sound, producers involved and the critical acclaim it received.
I'm anticipating this new album, obviously, since it's Mary, but I don't even know what I want from her right now or what she should come out with to sell. I just hope it has some hip hop.

I feel like she's been going through the motions for years. I didn't mind TLS but I expected it to be a bit more adventurous.

Think Like a Man Too was a much much better album imo.

I really loved The London Session. I don't understand the dislike from everyone else. Yes, some of the ballads could have been cut, but overall it was a great album.

I really loved The London Session. I don't understand the dislike from everyone else. Yes, some of the ballads could have been cut, but overall it was a great album. It was mainly the vocals for me. She sounds bored and tired throughout the album, like she was trying to be classy or something (I guess because she was in London?) She needed to put some classic Mary vocals down. Especially on the dance songs, she was singing them like she was on quaaludes. This is house music for Christ's sake, she needed to bring the house down. And in terms of organic soul Mary, she already did it better on Mary. Then they marketed it as some huge departure for her, she was crossing the pond to experiment with new sounds and new producers... and then there was nothing truly adventurous on the album. We've heard Mary do this kind of soul music before, we've heard Mary over dance music before. Everything about it was a letdown save a few tracks IMO. It actually got more and more lifeless the more I listened to it. Too lifeless, too soulless and too polished. But this is Mary, so I'm still here for her next album. I just want her to get it back on track. I really enjoyed ML II, so if she brings that level of quality I'll be satisfied.

I liked The London Sessions, but it wasn't as good as I expected it to be. Especially considering the best song was from Rodney Jerkins. My Life II was solid, I'd be happy with another album of that quality from her.

I feel like she's been going through the motions for years. I didn't mind TLS but I expected it to be a bit more adventurous. Agree on both parts. I think she felt like she was going through the motions as well. She doesn't even like being called "Queen of Hip Hop Soul" anymore. She became a slave to the title. I like that she is at least trying to take risks, and explore her sound a little more. She doesn't really have anything to prove anymore after almost 25 years. I enjoyed TLS, but everything about the roll-out for it was a MESS. Then it leaking over a month before the release date really killed it. I also didn't like that she didn't record a duet with Sam Smith...like that was a no-brainer. >

I've grown to appreciate The London Sessions after initially listening to it once, thinking it was good, but then not revisiting it. Thanks Taylor Swift for reigniting my interest in "Doubt" (and the album).
I really thought Think Like a Man, Too was the better album, and I kinda wish she would've pushed that some more. Perhaps even not as a 'soundtrack' release (since only 2-3 songs actually were in the film). "Suitcase" was a HOT jam!

Yes. "Suitcase" is my jam. And I actually put it in my upbeat Mary playlist alongside "Pick Me Up", "Nobody But You" and "My Loving" from TLS.

I liked London Sessions as a whole but felt she was a few years too late on that one. My favorite song of hers this decade would probably be "F For You" with Disclosure.

Aside from that hideous song with Jessie J, Mary's Christmas album still kinda goes. It's not what you would expect a Mary J. Blige Christmas album to sound like but I've been playing it all week.
