Yes! Mary going for the best song Oscar again. It's okay, not as good as "I Can See In Color" and "The Living Proof."

Song ain't that good though. If they'll give Sam Smith's Bond theme an Oscar, they'll give any song an Oscar.

But there's way better offerings every year. The best song category is consistently one of the most f**ked up and out of touch categories in the entire ceremony. We just have to see who gets nominated first. But if Mary does end up getting an Oscar nom for acting and also gets a song nom, if she doesn't have a real shot at supporting actress (Laurie Metcalf has so much heat right now), that may sway votes her way in song to reward her in some way. We shall see!

But like I said earlier, I don't trust Netflix to run a successful Oscar campaign for her, they have no experience with it. They dropped the ball so badly with Idris Elba it was embarrassing. Any run of the mill studio could have gotten him to an Oscar win for BONN. And he remains the only actor to win a SAG award and not at least be nominated at the Academy Awards for his performance.

That winning over "Til It Happens To You" "Earned It" was the biggest travesty. True, but EI was never going to be able to shake off the Fifty Shades stigma imo, even if it got a nomination. Wasn't aware that Mudbound was out today until it popped up when I opened Netflix. Very excited to finally see it, especially after all the hype.

Beautiful film! Mary did a great job! I'm so proud of her!!!!!!! "Mighty River" is perfect for the story, and works great as the closing song.

Watched the film over the weekend and I'm so happy they were able to capture Mary's warmth and give her a compelling role on film (as I've seen Prison Song and Rock of Ages). That first scene with her not being able look at her son driving away hit me instantly. BTW: She's nominated for 2 UB Honors awards, so if you wanna vote for her: urbanbridgez.com/ubgblog/2017/11/18/vote-ubhonors-2017/

I’m going to watch this over Thanksgiving with the family. I’m hoping she is as good as people are saying. I need to be moved!

I would not classify Mary as a "pop star" - shame on that reviewer

Talent and hard work are not awarded. Ask Mariah. Though Mary has a few Grammys, this was the album to get her that one more.

I thought "Thick Of It" was a shoe-in! Kinda disappointing. It was released super early in the eligibility period, I think it just got lost in the shuffle.

I can't believe the last album of hers to get a nomination was Growing Pains back in 2009.

bulls**t ass grammys.. One of the better selling R&B albums of 2017, 2 number 1 R&B singles, one staying number 1 for 16 weeks and another top 10 R&B single and no nod? But Lethersee(Ledisi) gets not 1 but 2 nods? WTF. I'm a little upset. It's almost like the industry doesn't F*** with her anymore.
