MTS TOP 100 SONGS | FEBRUARY 14, 2016 | WEEK 38 | SEASON 2 Did twenty one pilots take back the #1 spot or did ZAYN hold on and claim a 3rd consecutive week at the summit? Here's the answer: ZAYN's PILLOWTALK manages to hold on to #1 and claim a 3rd week at the top spot. Very impressive run by PILLOWTALK. It was able to become the 2nd #1 debut and it has been on #1 for all 3 of its weeks on the chart. 3 weeks at #1 is not the common. Only 2 songs have been able to do it: See You Again (3 wks at #1) and Locked Away (6 wks at #1). With #1 revealed, we all know what #2 is. Stressed Out stays put at #2 for a 3rd consecutive week and claims its 6th week in the top 2. The question is: How many more weeks until Stressed Out takes back the top spot? I say that PILLOWTALK has 1-3 more weeks (meaning that it would have 4-6 wks in total) at #1 left until Stressed Out takes back the summit. So, on to the close Justin Bieber battle. This week is the week that I'll Show You finally passes Sorry. I'll Show You jumps (6-3) and Sorry slips (3-4). Sorry is still going strong, so it should have great longevity and possibly a record-setting amount of weeks in the top 10. Here is the thing, by logic, I'll Show You will probably have more weeks in the top 10 than Sorry. I'll Show You has spent 13 (consecutive weeks) of its 15 weeks in the top 10. All My Friends jumps 7-5 to claim a top 5 peak. I Took A Pill In Ibiza has a great week of gains and jumps 15-6. 7 Years also has a great week, as it jumps 13-7. Those gains may have been pretty good, but there is one that is way bigger. "Started from the bottom, now we here". Drake's new diss track, Summer Sixteen, jumps all the way from #84 to #8. Last week, we say 7 Years jump 65 places and now we see Summer Sixteen jumping 76 places. Insane. Time to slow down the pace a bit. My House stays put at #9 and Hands To Myself jumps 11-10 to reach a top 10 peak. This now means that each of Selena's single from " Revival" have reached the top 10. Congrats to Selena! Notable songs outside the top 1014. Zara Larsson, MNEK- Never Forget You: This seems like it's going straight to the top 10 15. G-Eazy X Bebe Rexha- Me, Myself & I: This looked like it would've only peaked at #34, but it now seems to be looking at a top 10 peak. Wow 24. Coldplay- Adventure Of A Lifetime: SuperBowl gains. 29. Tinashe ft. Chris Brown- Player: Random surge. But hey, this looks like it could have a good chart run. Top 20 even. Go Mike and Lukas!!! Those 2 songs have a very bright future. Once Sorry slows down a bit more, that will open up another chart position for those 2 battle for. Oh and don't expect either of the 2 to slow down anytime soon. If they stay between #4 and #7 for a while, that's because the top 3 have big leads and are still gaining.

Are we out of the woods yet? :( Ps: I love the debuts/re entries Some of the gains are pushing OOTW back. Unfortunately I think it has peaked, but it should stick around for a while. Oh, and expect New Romantics to chart in week 40 (week 40 is this Sunday and week 39 was last Sunday. Week 39 will be posted in 1-2 days)

MTS TOP 100 SONGS | FEBRUARY 21, 2016 | WEEK 39 | SEASON 2
Close battle for #1 this week, Another huge jump (trust me, it's a HUGE jump) into the top 10, and What Do You Mean? returns the top 10 again. It feels good to be caught up on charts. However, we can't just waste time (and valuable thread space) talking about this. So, let's get to the commentary. Another close battle for #1, but for the 4th week in a row, PILLOWTALK is #1. Stressed Out is close behind at #2 and all it needs is a small boost to take #1 back. That's if PILLOWTALK doesn't also gain at the same time. I still see Stressed Out taking back the throne in a couple weeks. #3 and #4 also didn't change this week. I'll Show You stays at #3 and Sorry stays at #4. I'll Show You did expand the gap over Sorry, so it should stay ahead of Sorry from this point on. Below the top 4 is the entertaining part. Mike Posner now has himself a top 5 hit with I Took A Pill In Ibiza rising (6-5). Let's look back at the last couple weeks. We saw 7 Years jump 65 places (78-13), Summer Sixteen jump 76 places (84-8). So, what could be crazier than those? Little Mix and Jason Derulo's song, Secret Love Song, jumps all the way from #91 to #6. 85 places upward for the song! That's the 2nd biggest jump in history. Behind that epicness, we have Lukas Graham's new hit, 7 Years, staying put at #7. Expect that to have a great chart run. At #8 is All My Friends falling (5-8), but not losing much of anything. Okay, is that a typo at the top? Nope. What Do You Mean? re-enters the top 10 again (this is, I think, the 3rd time that this song re-entered the top 10) and it just seems to not want to die. I kind of figured this would happen. Speaking of re-enteries, Tori Kelly's Hollow re-enters the top 10, mostly because of her Grammy performance. Notable Songs Outside The Top 1011. Tori Kelly- Unbreakable Smile: This gained because of Tori's Grammy performance, which drew me back to listening to this. I actually think this could have another run in the top 10 if the opportunity becomes available. 12. G-Eazy X Bebe Rexha- Me, Myself & I: I liked this a couple months ago, then I stopped listening to it for some reason. But now it is back and better than ever and it lands on #12 this week, but I don't see it entering the top 10 before Never Forget You (#13) 20. DNCE- Cake By The Ocean: This is really starting to gain (so unexpectedly) quickly. 23. Demi Lovato- Stone Cold: With the video out, this is looking to jump into the top 10. Great song! Amazing vocals! So proud of Demi. 29. Jay Sean ft. Sean Paul- Make My Love Go: This is a great song for a comeback. And a great jump on my chart. TRACKING WEEK ANNOUNCEMENT You may not have known, but I never had an official tracking week, but now I do. My chart's tracking week is Friday-Thursday. This is because of 2 reasons: 1. It will give me more time to make sure my chart is accurate. 2. Most songs get released on Fridays. So now, we don't have to see a situation like Purpose entering at #100 just 2 days after album release and then jumping up to #1 the next week. I also have a small top 10 hint for next week. I can't believe I am about to say this, but Work has a great chance of entering the top 10 next week. The song has grown on me a bit, but I enjoyed the music video so much that it might just push this all the way into the top 10. Tags: @markg94 @jakelmmrs44 (I'm sorry to annoy you 2 again. lol)

Nice jumps for Cake By The Ocean, Hollow, Something In The Way You Move, Work and Stone Cold I'm not sure if Stressed Out can pull it off next week, but it should be able to in a few weeks. I'm not making guarantees (I'm looking at you JL44. lol), but it's a great possiblity. All the songs you listed are looking to have great chart runs in store for them. (Except for Hollow, since it already has had a great chart run so far).

MTS TOP 100 SONGS | FEBRUARY 28, 2016 | WEEK 40 | SEASON 2 ZAYN still number 1, twenty one pilots still going strong. Big jumps, big drops, crazy week. Yep, ZAYN is #1 yet again. PILLOWTALK gets a 5th consecutive week at #1 after debuting at the summit. There is something different about this #1 scenario this week. The gap between PILLOWTALK and Stressed Out (which stayed at #2 and is showing no signs of giving up that #2 spot just yet) got bigger. So Stressed Out might only get 2 weeks at #1, but don't count them out. There is always a possibility of PILLOWTALK dying out quick enough for Stressed Out to get a few more weeks at the summit. No guarantees (@markg94 should know what I mean about guarantees for Stressed Out) Something else to point out: PILLOWTALK is just 1 week away from tying the record for most weeks at #1 (set by Locked Away) and just 2 weeks away from breaking it. Considering the fact that it has a 700k point lead over #3 and the fact that the gap between #1 and #2 is larger, PILLOWTALK has a great chance of setting a new record. I'll Show You holds on to #3, but it might be facing some tough competition over the next few weeks. One of the songs that could knock I'll Show You out of #3 is Mike Posner's I Took A Pill In Ibiza. The gain of one position for ITAPII may not seem like anything important, but it gained almost 100k more points this week. A song that most likely won't be visiting the top 3 anytime soon is Justin Bieber's Sorry. It is just on its way down, but something is different about this downfall. Sorry is falling very slowly. So slowly that Sorry could break the record for most weeks in the top 10 (Set by Photograph, which had 25 weeks in the top 10). Onto the song that is starting to pick up a lot of momentum. 7 Years jumps (7-6) and has a good chance of passing Sorry next week. If time plays out correctly, this could end up being a #2 or even a #1 hit. At this point, out of the 2 fast risers (ITAPII and & 7 Years), I don't know which will peak higher. The first big gain of the week is seen at the #7 position. Demi Lovato's Stone Cold has jumped 23-7 because of the music video and because of my liking it more than I did last week (that's kind of obvious since it jumped 16 places). Little Mix's (and Jason Derulo's) new hit, Secret Love Song, fell from its peak of #6 to #8. This is mostly because of the gains by the 2 songs right above it. I don't expect this to die out anytime soon. The second big gain of this week is Work by Rihanna (featuring Drake). It has jumped for the same reasons as Stone Cold did. It jumps 46-9. We aren't done with the new top 10 entries yet. #10 is Never Forget You by Zara Larsson & MNEK (jumping 13-10). This should stick around in the top 10 for a while. Great song. Other notable songs outside the top 1011. G-Eazy X Bebe Rexha- Me, Myself & I: Got close this week, should hit top 10 in the next few weeks 12. DNCE- Cake By The Ocean: I'm really liking this song now. 15. Tori Kelly- Unbreakable Smile: Surprisingly, this could return to the top 10 soon. 17. R. City ft. Chloe Angediles- Make Up: This wasn't going to jump this much, but I looked at my last.fm and saw that this was one of my most played tracks of the week. This is what happens when I don't even pay attention to the fact that it played a good amount of times. 20. Justin Bieber- Company: Went from (#96) almost off the chart (even though it probably wouldn't have dropped for another couple months) to a new peak of #20. This is what happens when a song has been on my chart for 14 weeks and then gets announced as a single. It brought the song back to me, now I'm listening to it alot. MTS TOP 100 SONGS | MARCH 6, 2016 | WEEK 41 | SEASON 2 ZAYN gets a 6th week at #1 and ties Locked Away's record. 11 songs debut this week, including Fifth Harmony (their new song debuted in the top 5). Once again, ZAYN reigns supreme with " PILLOWTALK". This is the song's 6th week at the summit, which means it has tied the record for most total weeks at #1. Here is the list of songs that spent 2+ weeks at #1[6 Weeks] "PILLOWTALK" - ZAYN [6 Weeks] "Locked Away" - R. City ft. Adam Levine [3 Weeks] "See You Again" - Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth [2 Weeks] "Where Are U Now" - Skrillex & Diplo ft. Justin Bieber [2 Weeks] "What Do You Mean?" - Justin Bieber [2 Weeks] "Purpose" - Justin Bieber [2 Weeks] "Talking Body" - Tove Lo At #2, once again, is " Stressed Out". Stressed Out has now spent a total of 9 weeks in the top 2 (2 weeks at #1 and 7 weeks at #2). This week, we have a different #3. Mike Posner's " I Took A Pill In Ibiza" slides (4-3) to a new peak. This is looking to be the next #1. It just has to stay around long enough to pass the 2 songs above it when they fall. But there is another problem, the songs below it. At #4 is not one to worry about. " I'll Show You" is very slowly starting to fall. It fell (3-4) this week and could fall further next week... ... That's because of the next few songs. We have a top 5 debut. Fifth Harmony's " Work From Home" debuts at #5 (don't forget about Ty Dolla $ign being featured in this. lol.) This won't have to suffer a big 2nd week drop. If it does fall, it should only fall to #6 or #7. This song should stick around and pose a big threat. At #6 is a song for ITAPII to worry about. Lukas Graham's " 7 Years" stays put at its peak of #6, but it is gaining quickly. It should be very interesting to see if this song will have more success than ITAPII or not. But we aren't finished yet. Another big threat places at #7 this week. Zara Larsson & MNEK's " Never Forget You" is also in the running for the next #1. It gained 120k points and could be looking at top 5 next week. Before we go to #8, I must say that the places of #4-#7 will be close next week. Now onto #8. Surprisingly gaining this week is Rihanna's (and Drake's) " Work". It rises (9-8) to a new peak. This might actually stick around for a while. This is definitely not getting get into the top 7 next week, though. Falling 4 places to #9 this week is Justin Bieber's hit " Sorry". It may seem like its top 10 run could be done very soon, but it could actually still have 5-10 weeks left in the top 10. Holding on to its top 10 placing is " Secret Love Song". The gains above it forced it to slip 2 places, but it might be able to stay in the top 10 next week. Notable songs outside top 10#11. twenty one pilots- " Ride" (It gained 5 places and could be looking at a 2nd week in the top 10 soon) #12. DNCE- " Cake By The Ocean" (This is doing really well, but it should be passed by the song below it next week) #13. G-Eazy X Bebe Rexha- " Me, Myself & I" (This should pass the song above it next week.) #14. Troye Sivan- " Youth" (Music video gains) #15. Justin Bieber- " Company" (Doing really well so far.) MTS TOP 100 SONGS | MARCH 13, 2016 | WEEK 42 | SEASON 2 Did ZAYN break the record? Find out below! Also, we have 2 songs rising into the top 5 this week. Also, 2 songs rising into the top 10. The moment of truth. Did PILLOWTALK break the record for most weeks at #1?... YES! ZAYN did it! His record breaking single, " PILLOWTALK", has held the #1 spot since it's debut week. Next goal? 10 weeks. I find it interesting that ZAYN's album will affect the chart on PILLOWTALK's possible 10th week. So basically, all PILLOWTALK has to do is stay at #1 for the next 2 weeks and then it has 10 weeks at #1 in the bag. At #2 this week, still, is " Stressed Out". This song has now spent a total of 10 weeks in the top 10, all of which were spent in the top 2. Regaining the #1 spot is becoming more unlikely, but it could still happen. Behind those 2 chart dominators is Mike Posner's "I Took A Pill In Ibiza". This song is a serious contender for the next #1. But so is the song at #4. Now before we get to #4, I will say that at the beginning of Thursday (the last day of the tracking week), the songs in the places of #4-#7 were dead even when it came to points. But, on Thursday, " 7 Years" (#4) got a 7k point lead over them (#5, to be more specific). 7 Years is going to be battling it out with ITAPII over the next couple months (possibly). At #5 is Zara Larsson and MNEK's hit, " Never Forget You". No signs of slowing down, but with the top 4 being very strong above it, it may stay put at #5 for a while. At #6 is Fifth Harmony's new hit, " Work From Home". This falls from its debut position of #5 to #6. At #7 is Justin Bieber's " I'll Show You". Yeah, it fell 3 places, but it still has a good lead over #8. #8 being, interesting enough, Justin Bieber's " Sorry". This debuted in the top 10 and has charted in the top 10 for each of its 20 chart weeks. This is looking to break the record of 26 weeks in the top 10, set by Ed Sheeran's "Photograph". At #9, coincidentally, is Justin Bieber's new single " Company". It is one of the new top 10 entries as it rises 15-9. Yes this has spent 17 weeks on the chart so far, that's not typo. Another new top 10 entry places at the edge of the top 10. At #10, surprisingly, is " Hello Friday" by Flo Rida and Jason Derulo. Wow. I ended up liking this more than I thought I would. Btw, this jumped 34-10 this week. :) Notable songs outside the top 1011. Meghan Trainor- NO (I'm suing Billboard for this! They copied me again. They already copied my top 2 debuts for Hello and Sorry last year. LOL Jk. But for real, how did this happen again? Ok, onto the actual song. This was suppose to debut at #8, but this decreased a bit more than I thought and because the songs above it did better this week.) 14. G-Eazy X Bebe Rexha- Me, Myself & I (Don't get fooled by the 1 spot drop, this should be entering the top 10 very soon.) 22. Charlie Puth- Suffer (Vince Staples & AndreaLo Remix) (I've been playing this alot. Only placed at #22 because I started listening to it half-way into the chart week.) 27. twenty øne piløts- Fairly Local (For a song that is not a single and is over a year old, I am shocked that this is getting this high.) I'm so happy for "PILLOWTALK" Also, yass at "Company" hitting the top 10 and "Lush Life" going higher! I see that Zayn is doing pretty great on top but I hope "7 Years" will top the chart soon! Btw, Kelly, Demi and Taylor are falling :(
