Not sure if he's been talked about here, but pretty incredible what he's doing right now. Posted covers on YouTube, each of which usually ended up with over 100,000 views. Now in the last two weeks he's completely blown up. He currently has the #1 country song and #3 country album on iTunes. Interesting read on him: Kane Brown: Market Manipulations & The Manufacturing of an Organic Star
Really digging his music though. Very good.

This is kind of insane how he's blowing up, Used to Love You Sober is 3rd on iTunes right now, just ahead of Die a Happy Man at 4. Talk about coming outta nowhere.

He was REALLY good when we saw him at CMA Fest so I'm really excited that he's blowing up right now!

He wasn't "manufactured" any more than any other artist, big or small, is "manufactured." He has potential to be huge.

I'm not really hearing anything mind blowing here. Granted, there's good songs here like "Forgetting Is The Hardest Part" and "Lost More Than I Found", but there's also some incredibly bad/generic stuff here like "Don't Go City On Me", and "It Turns Me On". The title track and "Hit The Gas" aren't atrocious, but they're the same things we've heard before. Trucks, hot girls, alcohol...... The production actually isn't annoying on this EP and surprisingly sounds country in more places than I thought it would. But overall, I'm not hearing a whole lot out of this guy. Maybe there's something I'm missing but idk.
Also, I haven't heard his "Used To Love You Sober" song so my comments are only meant to reflect his "Closer" ep, not that song.

I'm not saying it's bad, but his style certainly isn't my cup of tea. Even so, his "stardom" manufacturing isn't any different than what happens behind the scenes with anybody else.

Used To Love You Sober is the #2 selling track this week with 38,000 sold. Unbelievable. Strong fan base for being an indie artist.

And yet another singer who hasn't had a Wikipedia page while an EP or single has been released, Kelsea Ballerini and Cam being the most recent.

Kane Brown released a new song Last Minute Late Night today, but it seems to be pure R&B, not sure why it's listed as country.

I heard this for the first time on The Highway's "On The Horizon" show this afternoon. His vocals on this song really get under my skin -- especially those verses. The song itself was okay but I really don't think he's that great of a vocalist. As we know though, that doesn't mean anything in regards to what becomes huge these days.

These songs really aren't that good, so I'm shocked he is an online sensation, but seeing how pop has taken over the format, these new "fans" have short attention spans so it's no surprise they are already looking for the next big thing. Reminds me of Sam Hunt.
