I've been passing KTU on the dial for the past two days but haven't caught it! According to Mediabase, KTU played it 9 times.

The single will be released on Robbins on June 29. Her album is scheduled for later this year and will feature the hits "Find Another Woman," "Anything For Love," "No One's Gonna Change You," and this new track. "If I Close My Eyes" was co-written by the man who wrote Livin' Joy's smash 1994 club hit "Dreamer". Anyone have the audio?!

About time the album came out LOL Well dance albums aren't rushed because they wouldn't sell very well if they came out like regular albums so they wait for several singles to come out and then they release the album. Rockell did that with her debut album.

I went to the Robbins Entertainment website and didn't see this song. I don't know if we can count on All Access adding it. It now has 16 spins on WKTU.

Last night I turned on KTU, and I heard the end of a song that was blatant freestyle and the only words I caught were "my eyes". I'm wondering if it was Reina. If it was, this song sounds like 80's freestyle. I'm not sure how that will fare for her if it is. I wonder who is remixing this.

Oh so that's what she looks like. I still had no idea even though I first heard of her over 5 years ago.

It goes 12-6 on Billboard Dance Radio Airplay and on Mediabase it now has 1 spin on a station other than WKTU (16 total).

Remixes have been done by Tony Moran, Guiseppe D., and Jack D. Elliot. Those are the ones I know of atleast. There may be more. I ordered the single but it looks like it was pushed back a week. I've only heard the Tony Moran and Guiseppe D. mixes so far. The Tony Moran mix is really good.

REINA If I Close My Eyes Producer(s): Jack D. Elliot Writer(s): J.D. Elliot, J. Robinson, T. deVaron Publisher(s): various Genre: DANCE Label/Catalog Number: Robbins Entertainment 76869-072111 (CD single) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: July 10, 2004
Reina has been plying her vocal wares since the late '90s. Her voice has graced such top 10 club singles as "Find Another Woman" (1998) and "Anything for Love" (1999). In 2002, her empowering anthem "No One's Gonna Change You" made its way onto The Billboard Hot 100. With "If I Close My Eyes"—a first glimpse into the artist's debut album—Reina delivers one powerful slab of dance-pop. Jack D. Elliot, Tina deVaron and Janice Robinson (a recording artist herself) have penned a universal tale of love gone wrong. Tailor-made for the artist, "If I Close My Eyes" will not disappoint Reina's loyal fans. While club play is a given, radio needs to wholly champion this gem. In this issue, the hook-laden track climbs to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot Dance Radio Airplay chart. With the proper marketing and promotion push, top 40 radio should not lag too far behind.—MP

Reina was just in the KTU studios and they played "What Happened To Us". It's a decent song but I'm hoping there is better material. I'm used to better hooks from her.

You can go to All Music Guide and listen to clips from This Is Reina. I really like "On My Own". It's a great dance ballad which is what she does best. Her cover of "If You Should Ever Be Lonely" is really disappointing. Real McCoy has done a cover. Mariah Carey has done a cover. Now Reina has done a cover. None of them impressed me or even came close to Val Young's original. The grit and emotion in Val's vocals are unparalleled. "What Happened To Us" will probably be the next single. Reina is definitely the brightest solo star at Robbins since Rockell. This Is Reina

REINA Album Title: This Is Reina Producer(s): various Genre: DANCE/ELECTRONIC Label/Catalog Number: Robbins 76869-75049 Release Date: Oct. 26 Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: November 13, 2004
After making a name for herself on dancefloors with such top 10 offerings as "Find Another Woman" and "Anything for Love"—as well as scoring a Hot 100 entry with "No One's Gonna Change You"—Reina, at long last, delivers her debut album. Already, the set's lead single, the energetic "If I Close My Eyes," has proved itself in clubs and on the radio; it peaked at No. 6 and No. 2 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play and Hot Dance Radio Airplay charts, respectively. And there is more where this major slab of buoyant dance-pop came from. Working with several producers (including Jack D. Elliot, Ellis Miah and Giuseppe D.), Reina stands head and shoulders above other female dance-pop artists who tend to get lost in their producers' rock-solid beats and rhythms. Of course, it doesn't hurt that Reina possesses power-packed, emotional vocals. Brightly shining moments like "On My Own," a delicious cover of "If You Should Ever Be Lonely" and "Believe in Us" more than make up for the lackluster "Vivo Per Lei," a duet with the Sicilians Featuring Angelo Venuto. With "This Is Reina," a star is born. Hopefully, those outside of the dance scene will take notice.—MP

Guess what major pop station has just added "If I Close My Eyes." Z100 New York. 5 spins last week and now up to 8 this week. :o It's awfully nice that Z100 is loading up on the dance songs just in time for summer. Too bad the songs they're playing are from summer 2004.

There is a version of an old Hazell Dean hit (remember her?!) "They Say It's Gonna Rain" on her last album...The original was a huge club hit in the 80'...hope they make some good mixes for the new version too!
