It depends. For example, Dope by lady gaga counted. But others don't. I don't think they've ever actually explained how or why I think they responded to a reader question about this recently saying that sometimes it has to do with whether the music was licensed properly. Label politics, basically. But if it's on the artist's official channel I assume it was licensed properly, no? |

Adele is slowing down~ not good yo AC is starting to flip stations to Xmas. It's still losing less than most other songs on that chart. It's only going to get worse next week as AC steamrolls into Xmas as well as some HAC and UAC stations. |

Compared to the craziness of Hello, Party Rock Anthem was such a low-burn miracle! Its largest week (which's Xmas week!) sold less than 300,000 and its peak AI impression was only about 145-150m (which tons of songs could achieve)
but ding! It's the #5 biggest hit (#1 of the decade so far!) of billboard's 57-year history!

its not about large weeks it's about longevity. PRA has sold over 8.1M copies in the US alone, which means it had constant good weeks at digital.

First time I've seen Adele with less than 3 million for a day's update. You think she still has a chance for the radio record? No. Songs like "Blurred Lines", "Uptown Funk", and "We Belong Together" had the support of almost all of the major formats except for Rock, Country and Alternative. Without Urban playing it it would need one of those other ones to supplement it's audience gains. It also lose audience due to the Christmas switch over that will start as early as next week for some stations. |

Does anyone have any idea what position "Love Yourself" by Justin Bieber will debut at? It is number 3 on sales, and number 3 on Spotify pretty much all week, but I assume its airplay is pretty minimal? I feel like it may debut at like number 12 or 13, but that isn't really based on anything.
