Hmm, no "Hymn for the Weekend". Even with BeyoncΓ© there.

Beyonce and Bruno stole the show but this was definitely a very good performance. I loved that last number, perfect way to end the show. I just wish Coldplay performed A Sky Full Of Stars. But overall, I enjoyed it

That was great overall. I was surprised by how sparse the sets were at first, but once all 3 came together on stage it was really good. The highpoint was when Beyonce and Bruno got on stage. I could have done with the Kumbaya vibe being more toned down, but then again this was technically Coldplay's show, so in that sense it's no different than how the previous few years have been.

It was a bit uneventful even with Beyonce and Bruno added, but it wasn't terrible I guess.

Loved it. The three of them together was truly an exciting, fun sight to see.

I thought it was well done. Beyonce was a little winded though. Was she signing Lose My Breath?

Coldplay was underwhelming. They didn't have the stage presence of a U2 or a B. Beyonce was phenomenal, as usual. I enjoyed the way they lighted up the field. That's unique for a SB halftime performance. Overall it didn't feel special enough. I enjoyed Katy more last year and that's not saying much. The highlight for me was seeing the one and only Diana Ross!

I really enjoyed it. It was definitely more toned down than the past several years but that was fitting for a Coldplay set, and it felt less like a production and more like a live concert because of it. the whole presentation was simple but visually striking and beautiful; loved the colors and the sort of 60's flower-child theme.

Hmm, no "Hymn for the Weekend". Even with BeyoncΓ© there. I think they didn't plan to do it, although it would have been a great opportunity to perform it to be honest. Was she signing Lose My Breath? She didn't, despite I thought she was going to perform that after I listened to a riff of the track, as well as "Crazy In Love".

I didn't really like it that well.. I'm not a Coldplay fan, still don't like "Uptown Funk," and would have rather had Beyonce perform something else.

I'm a big Coldplay fan and I thought they(Chris Martin) delivered, but I wasn't a big fan of the half time show as a whole. I just didn't think the three of them meshed well together; and simply didn't like the fact that Beyonce and Bruno were back again when they were the headliners 2 & 3 years ago.

I like it for what it was (I was entertained) but I found it underwhelming in comparison to Madonna, Prince, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Janet & Justin, Bruce Springsteen, U2, and even Katy Perry's halftime shows. This show lacked the iconic wow moments that those ones had. For me, the actual highlight was when those dancers were dancing with the oversized multicolored flowers. Then the Beyonce and Bruno Mars dance off. The rest was just neither her nor there.

I lost a lot of respect for Beyonce and Bruno tonight. Playing the Super Bowl is a HUGE moment in one's career, and they've already done it. How dare they come and steal Coldplay's playing time. EVEN IF you want to argue that they "made the show", that's just flat out disrespectful. Give Coldplay, who has EARNED a halftime show of their own, their proper time. Not EVERY Halftime show has to be about flashy lights and big dance moves and big costumes, music is very diverse and acts like that shouldn't be added in because the American public can't see the beauty in any other art form besides dancing and lights and upbeat music. And then Beyonce goes and announces a world tour right after? I would have considered buying a ticket to it until tonight. Coldplay is an awesome live act and I have seen them several times. I love other eccentric acts (Lady Gaga, etc...) but not EVERY performance has to be in the same popular format.
Now, if Coldplay ASKED them to be involved and do that, then I would change all of this and be like "what the fuck were you thinking Coldplay", but I guess we don't know how/why they got added in.

This was just such a horrible choice. Coldplay is fine and all, but their music is not for this type of environment. Their parts of the performance was just incredibly dull. It wasn't terrible or bad like The Who or The Black Eyed Peas, it was just very boring. When Bruno Mars came out and did some choreography to "Uptown Funk," it was pretty cool. Then BeyoncΓ© brought down the house with "Formation" and killer choreography. Then it was straight fire when Bruno and BeyoncΓ© had a dance-off that mashed up "Formation," "Uptown Funk," and "Crazy in Love." Then Chris Martin just awkwardly joined them. Then we went back to the snoozefest only to be followed up with a nice section that would have made a pretty good commercial, but a very odd end to the show. All in all, it was very "meh." Especially when compared to the past three years. Bruno, BeyoncΓ©, and Katy all had very exciting shows. This had its moments, but none of them were when Coldplay, the headliner, was on stage. If they had to go with the modern rock band route, Muse would've been a much better choice than Coldplay.

I understood it wrong. Anyway, I enjoyed watching it, but it wasn't as great as I initially thought it would be. I think that Coldplay were overshadowed by BeyoncΓ© and Bruno Mars, despite they were the headliners.

If you did so well that you were asked back to perform, why the hell would you not take that opportunity? I see no problem with it. Especially since they were not the headliners. It was definitely still Coldplay's halftime show.

And considering it's Super Bowl 50, the intent was to celebrate past performances as well. I'm with you in that the three-artists thing didn't work very well - I think Coldplay alone or a mixture of like eight or ten past artists would have worked better - but I certainly don't think their inclusion is a reason to lose respect for them.

You're telling me that as an artist, you would accept that offer and perform songs that have NOTHING to do with the headlining act and steal someone else's spotlight? I guess I just have more respect than that. Give Coldplay their time. They are one of the HUGEST bands of all time, whether their music is "boring" or not. And considering it's Super Bowl 50, the intent was to celebrate past performances as well. . I totally think that is OK through this lens but they did a terrible job of promoting it and formatting the performance as something like that. They should have promoted it as the special Superbowl 50th Anniversary Halftime Show and I think it would have made much more sense.

I don't understand your logic. So evil Beyonce and Bruno Mars forced their way into the Superbowl Performance to steal Coldplay's shine? Is that honestly how you think any of this works? They were all asked to perform, so they did. Coldplay was the headliner and Beyonce and Bruno were supporting acts. It's that simple, stop trying to make it some backstage soap opera with poor Chris Martin cowering in the corner while Bruno and Beyonce throw lit matches at him.

Lots of halftime shows have guest acts, if the headliners didn't want to perform with them, they could have refused and seen how the NFL liked it (I suspect the NFL would've just said, "Bye," and called up Maroon 5 or something). Seeing that Beyonce and Chris Martin seem to be friends in real life and she's done a song with his band, I doubt he saw it as some egregious offense to be "stuck" performing the halftime show with her.

Regardless, what were he and Beyonce supposed to do, decline the opportunity out of some fake sense of humility? Purposely suck to make Coldplay look better? 'No, we really think people would rather hear a rousing snippet of The Scientist. We'll sit this one out.' As it was, I think Beyonce and Bruno both MAJORLY dialed it back for their part of the performance. The costumes and props that were on the field were all for the Coldplay songs, there weren't any big light shows or pyrotechnics, and Bruno and Bey both performed songs that weren't out at the time they had their own shows (otherwise I doubt they would have been asked to perform). I also think Beyonce's outfit was an intentional throwback to Michael, who was shown in the clips of past performers at the end. They really didn't upstage Coldplay at all except to the extent that Chris Martin himself just ain't a memorable stage performer. If just showing up means they stole the band's shine then that's not really their fault or their problem. I'm only disappointed that they weren't able to work Hymn For the Weekend in there somehow. It would have fit with the overall theme of the show and incorporated Beyonce in a way that was less attention-stealing.
