I just did a quick listen of this album and it's pretty good, although I'll post a full review later. There are definitely some good single options here too: "Hungover On Heartache", "Cold In California", re-release of "My Mistake", "Runaway Train", "Half Broke Heart", and "Want It All" all sound like potential singles. And "Village" is damn good.

I listen to every album at least 3 times before I fully formulate my thoughts on an album and so my following opinion admittedly doesn't carry a ton of weight, but I have to say that after one listen I'm a little disappointed in this. The tracks from the EP (aside from "My Mistake") sound ok, along with the last two tracks, but I can't say I cared much for the production on a few tracks, and the title track is just really.....weird, to put it nicely. Maybe it'll be a grower album. Idk

Love: Burning House Mayday Runaway Train Village Like: Country Ain't Never Been Pretty Half-Broke Heart Meh: Cold In California My Mistake Hungover On Heartache Dislike: Untamed Want It All This is a fantastic album lyrically, but a little overbearing in the production department. Still, this is solid stuff that proves Cam will be someone to watch out for (if I wasn't busy I'd post more but...) Grade: 7/10

Aside from Burning House (which is hands down the best) and My Mistake, the one that I like the most by far is Untamed. It's what I would imagine a Kesha country song sounding like (Cam's vocals in spots reminds me of Take it Off's verses).

The only place I actively dislike the production is in "Cold In California," where it sounds like Bhasker (I assume, because there are similar effects on fun.'s Some Nights) has the layers coming in and out like waves, which might work if it wasn't literally in the middle of the titular line. Otherwise, I like the album a lot - I think "Mayday" is my favorite of the new ones.

I'm very impressed. Hopefully Cam will last a good long while. Modern, yet country throughout.

"Hungover on Heartache" should definitely be the next single, sounds like another hit. "Cold In California" might be my favorite song on the album though. Pretty solid stuff from Cam, I really hope she can break out and be a star.

Will post full thoughts later, but just have to lay down a precursor that this is one of the best albums released in 2015.

I'm enjoying most of this. "Mayday" is everything.

I'm really enjoying this album. Some of the songs take a few listens, but overall this is a great debut effort from Cam. I can easily see quite a few hit singles here. And my favorite lyric of the year has to be from this album: "She may be singing 'bout the country, and putting out the hits, but those boots sure never stepped in horsesh$$!"
Favorites in order: 1. Burning House 2. Mayday 3. Village 4. Country Ain't Never Been Pretty (guilty pleasure!) 5. My Mistake 6. Want It All 7. Cold In California 8. Half Broke Heart 9. Untamed 10. Hungover on Heartache 11. Runaway Train

I know it'll likely never happen...but I really wish "My Mistake" would get a re-release.

Projections have gone up quite a bit:
*Cam (Arista Nashville) 30-34k, 37-41k (SPS)
They were initially projecting 24-28k in sales (and 28-32k in SPS).
This should debut at #2 on Top Country Albums, behind Stapleton's Traveller.

I got this for Christmas yesterday, and I like it (after just one listen though, so things could change).
So far, "Burning House" is probably the standout for me, but then I've that one a lot and most of the others just once. I think she could have a string of hits from this album with the right single choices. "Hungover On Heartache", "Want It All", "Half Broke Heart" and an edit of "Country Ain't Never Been Pretty" or a re-release of "My Mistake" could all do well, I think. I also quite like "Village", but I don't necessarily see it being a hit single.

I got this for Christmas today and we listened to it on our drive home today. I LOVE this album! I think this definitely met my expectations, if not exceeded them some.
I would love to see a re-release of My Mistake because I still love that song so much, but I also think Half Broke Heart, Untamed, and Hungover on Heartache would be worthy releases. There is plenty to choose from here, of course, and I am excited to spend more time with this CD in the coming weeks!

Tried to buy this today and it was sold out at my Target and the Best Buy didn't even have it in stores (online only). Ugh. :'( Guess I'll try again tomorrow somewhere else.

I like this album quite a bit, though if the production were a little cleaner I think it might be one of the best of the year. I love Hungover On Heartache, as well as My Mistake & Half Broke Heart from the EP. Any of the three would make strong singles going forward (though Hungover On Heartache seems less likely as its the slowest of the 3). Mayday is strong as well, though I'm not sure it makes sense as a single. For a debut album though, this is an ambitious and impressive record. She isn't like any female artist i can remember, though I certainly hear influences from Miranda Lambert to Shania Twain.

I got this album for Christmas, and I absolutely LOVE IT! This album was well worth the wait. I had the privilege of meeting Cam back in July at a music festival. We talked for a few minutes and I got a photo with her. She is so sweet and her energy and bright attitude shines through on Untamed. She has to be one of the best female vocalists to grace country music, ever. I'll rank the tracks, but as always - these could change. - Mayday
- Village (this one is extremely personal for me, it needs a tissue disclaimer for the ones who haven't seen her live. At least there is a warning that you may ugly cry before she plays this live).
- Burning House
- Country Ain't Never Been Pretty
- Half-Broke Heart
- Untamed
- Runaway Train
- Cold In California
- Hungover On Heartache
- My Mistake
- Want It All

This album is absolutely marvelous. I love the production on this and the way it manages to be both very country but also quite modern at the same time. Like this is definitely a wonderful example of how country can conform a bit to modern trends without ever losing the sense and feel that this album is anything but country music to the core. I really enjoy everything on this album and my only complaint would be that I'd love more than just 11 songs because it's so damn good!
Also love that they have so many options for radio on this: really the only two that I would say shouldn't be considered for radio are "Mayday" and "Village"... everything else, fair game. Would love to see the next 2 singles be some combination of "Want It All," "My Mistake" (re-release), "Half Broke Heart," "Hungover on Heartache," or the title track, followed by "Country Ain't Never Been Pretty" as the last single.

I know that it would harm Cam's momentum but I'd love nothing more than Village getting released somewhere as that song is so beautiful. I really don't want to see Want It All released because it's fairly bland and basically a pop song not bad but nothing great. No what I think they should do is Runaway Train and then Village. I just love Village so much I'd love nothing more than that to be on radio somehow.

Other than "Burning House", which I think it's the masterpiece, I love "Village", "Country Ain't Never Been Pretty" and "Mayday". Not exactly the best selection for singles, but I love them and I won't mind seeing one of those being released in the future.

After finally listening to the album. I'm impressed! The album reminds me of a Dolly Parton album in a way. A lot of the songs sound like something she would've recorded

And they went with "Mayday" lol. I'm already guessing the third single will be "Want It All" followed by "Village" (and although maybe seen as a risky choice by many, I have a hunch it could easily be a huge fall/winter 2016 hit). I saw her perform it in an acoustic set last year and it's a great song. Not sure what Miranda has planned for 2016, but I'm pulling for a surprise female vocalist of the year win at the CMA's for Cam.
