Tina Cousins latest is a darkly evocative cover of Black's breakout late 80's hit, "Wonderful Life." The great Dance Version is really a radio edit and unfortunately is not offered in an extended version, for it is the best of the dancefloor ready versions of the song with a grinding yet glittering Electro production that beautifully parallels the inspirationally melancholy nature of the lyric. The Low Frequency Occupation mixes offer a slightly more disco-fied arrangement with a skipping beat and a piano-led track that give the song more of a House vibe but still wisely keep the focus on Tina's openly soaring vocal delivery. On the Methods Of Flow Club Mix, "Wonderful Life" is given more of a funky House treatment with a jittery beat, twanging guitar bits, and vocal stutters and as a contrast, a Ballad Version is featured as well, which perhaps provides the best showcase for Tina's emotive vocal with its sparsely stunning piano and strings arrangement. A welcome return, Wonderful Life" will please fans of Ms. Cousins's previous "Killing Time" album and will provide a solid lead for new fans into Ms. Cousins's upcoming sophomore full-length release "Mastermind."
"Wonderful Life" reached #5 on the Australian National Airplay Chart!
Tina will be touring the US and Europe for the coming months to support the release of the single.

I don't know if it was a single, but I knew of this singe through Lara Fabian's version. I don't know of any mixes to her remake, but vocally it's a little bit better IMO than the Tina Cousins version.
That said, the Tina Cousins mixes were pretty cool.

Wow, very interested to listen to Lara's version! Black's original song is really good too ... I can send you a copy if you want it.

One is called "Mysterious Times" and the other is called "Just Around The Hill".

So this track has caused me to explore Tina Cousins further. I now have:
Wonderful Life (Dance Radio Version) Forever Pray Mysterious
Out of those, "Forever" has captured most of my attention. Despite the obvious late 90's style, it's still a really enjoyable track. And her vocals/vocal arrangement are addicting.
But, in the last 24 hours, after having had "Wonder Life" long enough to learn the words and get used to it, I realize what a GREAT track this song is, too. The production is so perfect! And the vocals blend into it flawlessly. I love it.
"Pray" and "Mysterious Times" have yet to win me over.
