Hey itswhatever just FYI: there is an existing thread in the Rhythmic & Urban radio single forum for "How We Roll" (https://pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/218551/ciara-chris-brown-roll). Artist threads are more for general artist/album-related news.

Thinkin Bout You should’ve been a smash for her. Had it been another pop girl with radio support, that song would’ve been one of those ‘retail worker’s nightmare’ monster hits.

If she reaches in her bags and give me 2 - 3 of these kinda bops. I'll be a satisfied fan lol this would tick all the marks she want to hit to appease her OG fans and also sound fresh and Ciara. I just had to randomly praise these. youtu.be/ONIegX8Hbt0youtu.be/YCmFXKbdy8o

I know, that's why I feel like sonically there has been no growth. But I think he is her only option, so I guess Where did you get he's her only option... DJ camper just stated like two weeks ago he wants yo work with Ciara along with various other ones. There are plenty of upcoming and fresh hungry producers as well willing to step in. He is just who she has the most comfort in because he held her down. He was talking with fans on twitter spaces a year ago and he said nobody else will work with her and Theron has told us that a lot of people in the industry feel like it’s a “waste of time” working with her. People in the industry have told him to his face that he shouldn’t work with her at all but he doesn’t care or listen to them because he still believes in her. Here is a link to it: twitter.com/i/spaces/1yoKMWWmeblJQI appreciate him sticking by her......but at the same time he holding her back

He stated that he's hot and other people wanted him to work with hot artists and never specifically stated what you just stated. I literally just came on here a few pages back and hinted at the pregnancy b4 she announced it and dropped tea about what a DIFFERENT producer told me and what they had planned for 2024 with a host of other producers. What do yall even be talking about. And they were excited and can't wait. Fact is Theron is more than just a producer to her for her to replace him for success. She enjoys creating with him. Period. She has options of other ones, but picks him as her Executive producer.

At that time ADA wasn’t exactly the best team to push her independently at radio but due to her connection with Macklemore, she went with them. She’s definitely learned from that. Thinkin Bout You should’ve been a smash for her. Had it been another pop girl with radio support, that song would’ve been one of those ‘retail worker’s nightmare’ monster hits.

I do like that the EP is more R&B compared "jackie and "beauty marks"
Be honest with me y'all......do you like her pop/pop leaning music? For some reason i think sonically that was what turns me off from most her music from 2015 to now.
I'm more of a fan of her urban/r&B records (that has cross over potential). I noticed ever since "Jackie" she has been way more pop leaning.
Does anyone have tea why she went the the pop route? Especially in 2015 when urban was starting to be mainstream?
Especially when pop is x5 harder to break into

Maybe she just likes Pop music more?. Or feels disconnected from her urban audience that’s given her the most criticism.
Her pop/pop leaning records have been the best songs on her albums post The Evolution.
Fantasy Ride - Tell Me What Your Name Is
Basic Instinct - Heavy Rotation
Ciara - Overdose
Jackie - Kiss & Tell
Beauty Marks - Thinking About You

Fantasy Ride - Tell Me What Your Name Is Basic Instinct - Heavy Rotation Ciara - Overdose Jackie - Kiss & Tell Beauty Marks - Thinking About You Hmmm, I guess that makes sense. But GP and most of her fans prefer urban music, or club/dance music .I believe the urban audience gave her criticism when she started doing pop records. Her doing pop isn't really that bad per say, but I do wish it sounded a bit more...... mature for her audience, and a little less juvenile? plus most of the pop songs you named she never promoted Like, the made for a challenge, motivational, inspirational, girl power songs just aint gonna cut it....I feel like her audience is at least 25+. And can clearly see thru that. I mean she clearly wants a decent hit so why not make music that's dominating which is urban, and most familiar with your audience? Or did she and her team not release that urban was mainstream again? Still think it was 2010 when pop was most popular? It does seem like the Collab with CB is in the right direction tho.......

Or she wants to make pop music because it makes her happy. Your being passive aggressive towards her while accusing her of chasing a hit, but stating in the same breath why isn't she doing what everybody else is doing in the mainstream. That's pretty comical lol Alot of Ciara record would be smashes/ moderate hits on others, all the over critique is just that. Including myself at times, I get it we want her to succeed. I just want her to build her fan base to a solid point again. There was nothing "juvenile" about Thinkin Bout You, Kiss & Tell etc.. that the other girls are giving right now. She can improve in certain areas of lyrical aspect, but people get overly critical of her when things don't work out and try to pin point the culprit and it's simply sometimes things don't go as planned. She still has a solid legacy and doing well. I hope HWR takes off, it would be a nice start in the right direction.

I don't really mind her pop songs. I'm just a bit more her partial to her urban stuff, especially on the last two albums she did.

But yeah, I agree she definitely need to build a solid fanbase, that shows up for the music. Maybe "juvenile" was the wrong word to use, but i wish she delivered more sexy/sensual bops like promise/bodyparty/ride. her more recent songs just sound corny to me. i like all the song on the Ep except winning

I definitely don’t think a song like Winning is a wise way to promote the EP. Especially on a site like Twitter where people have no issue being nasty and miserable.
Her and her team should have asked themselves what would have been the best song to push on a platform filled with people that don’t really see it for her as a musician, have not listened to the EP in full and think her last hit was Body Party. Clearly Winning should have fallen to the bottom of the list and one of the r&b focused songs should have been the one to go for. her team sucks

Hun, that woman has been dropping winning snippets since 2022. Thesis and dissertations everyday, it will be ok. And comparing a house sample to a bounce record in itself shows how uninformed one is.

These people are gonna have something negative to say regardless. The only thing Church Girl and Winning have in common is that they both incorporate Bounce music. It doesn’t sound like Break My Soul either I bet these are the same people that are always saying she should stop doing music EVERYTIME She releases something. Y’all don’t stream her music anyway. I really cannot stand these fake ass bandwagon internet stans. This crop of material is miles better than Beauty Marks. The same people are gonna complain when the album comes out too watch

I'm glad she's strong mentally, but they're gonna keep doing it and the fans get influenced or affected by it if they're weak minded. A nasty cycle, that's why I want her to quit catering to them and make music.

Am I the only one that loves "2 in Luv"? She did that on that song and it was a clever use of the sample as opposed to it being a direct copy or over relying on it. That song has grew on me so bad, it's a fresh take on R&B she's done before

She’s at her vocal tone best when she hits that pre chorus on 2 in Luv with the “feelings/reasons” and the run she did going into the hook

Tbh Ciara is her own boss and she runs everything but I also think she’s blinded by what’s best for her music and her. She should promote type a party or lowkey if she’s going to market her album as R&B. We get it that you’re happy and in love with a beautiful family but also promote the music that celebrates that love. Don’t get me wrong Winning is okay and cute but it’s also not the strongest song on the EP.
She just doesnt.........get it

Chile he all over the album so get ready to type up them paragraphs and be mad. Then, I guess she's officially lost me because...when I feel a song with Chris Brown is the best she has to offer (and I would even say he makes the song), that says a whole lot about the project. 1. How I Roll (cute) 2. Low Key (I like the production on this one the most.) 3. BRB (cute) 4. Forever (It's whatever.) 5. 2 In Luv (juvenile) 6. Winning (annoying) 7. Type A Party (Did her kids write this? The lyrics are a joke.) Agree with the posters who say she needs to branch out but a) this seems to be her comfort zone now, for better or for worse and b) yeah, I don't know what heavy hitters in the industry are itching to work with her at this point, so again, she really needs just get some fresh, new talent. That said, she is rich, so if this is what she is happy doing, fine, I guess. The returns will just continue to diminish, which is a shame, because she really did show so much promise as an artist.
