Yay (sarcastic)! Honestly since this is a Nash Icon single I really want this song to just stay off the charts or leave soon (looks to be the latter) as all it's basically going to do is mingle in the mid to low 40s

This is cause for celebration! It's not like "Reckless" has been taking up chart space for 20 weeks... Besides, this is the first song she has had on the charts in 4 years. I'm sure you can handle letting her have this small victory Lol

I think they should amend the three bulletless weeks in a row rule to only include songs that have been charting for a minimum of 10 weeks. That would likely prevent something like this.
Glad that this song still has some life left in it. I don't expect it to chart too much higher, but it'd be nice to see it slip into the top 40 at some point (or at least hang in there through the album launch).

This song never got posted last Friday when it was pre-released. Here is "The Real Thing" ft. Buddy Miller:
I can definitely see what Martina meant when she said she is going for a more "rootsy and organic sound" with this album. "Reckless" is definitely a modern-sounding outlier, but so far "Just Around The Corner", "That's The Thing About Love", and "The Real Thing" have all been exquisitely true to her description! It's a very different sound, but so far I like it. I am eager to hear how it translates to the context of the album as a whole.

Prerelease #5 is "Everybody Wants To Be Loved":
I find it interesting that all of the songs released thus far have had their own unique artwork except "The Real Thing".
This should be the final prerelease, since tomorrow is the final Friday before the album comes out. This time next week, we will have access to the whole album :)

I'm trying not to listen to any of the new songs so that the whole album is fresh for me on Friday. Looking forward to it though!
Before I do anything dumb, am I right that there are no special editions with new songs (so I can just go ahead and order the regular one)?

"Reckless" moves 50-49 (thanks in large part to four songs going recurrent), but the alarming thing is that it loses over 400K in AI. I doubt it gets much further at this point, but the good thing is that it will at least be on the charts when the album is released.

Yep, as far as I have seen, you are correct. The only deluxe edition is the one where the bonus tracks are just songs from Eleven. You are safe to order the regular one.

Martina currently has an excellent cover story on Taste Of Country! Some interesting juicy details: 1) Apparently Martina has been struggling with her confidence the last few years. One contributing factor is that people have been starting to ask her questions as if she is no longer a relevant part of the music scene, like she's an outsider looking in, or she's been swept off into a corner. But lately she has been getting that confidence back, and is much more sure of herself now than she was a couple years ago. 2) It was very hard for her to find songs for Reckless. Because of the dangerous mindset that led to Saladgate (people not wanting to support female music), less and less songwriters are spending much time or effort writing songs for women. They have to make a living, and they know that the female artists are not going to give them that... :( 3) While recording Reckless, producer Nathan Chapman completely overhauled the way Martina records vocals. She usually sings entire songs multiple times until they get it just right, but he forced her to do it one line or verse at a time. The immediate feedback helped fuel her creativity, and is partly why this album feels so strong and fresh to her. 4) When recording, Martina is incredibly hard on herself. She loves receiving feedback from her collaborators about the vocals, instrumental tracks, etc., and does not get offended. She likes to be told when she is wrong. 5) The song "Reckless" gave them the most trouble, creatively, of all the songs on the album. Everybody had a different idea of what to do with it. The two producers both invited different musicians to do different things. Martina was open to the changes, but ended up telling them that their ideas weren't working, and that everyone's initial instincts felt the truest to her.

Programming note:
Martina will have a Town Hall exclusive with Storme Warren on Sirius/XM's Y2Kountry, previewing songs from her Reckless album at 6:00 p.m ET.

Only was able to catch, "It Ain't Pretty," and LOVED that. I loved Lady A's version, but Martina's may have topped it.

"Reckless" turned around some, to pick up over 300K and move 49-47*. Not that I'm expecting it to rally and reach the top 40, but that would be so nice to see.

I was excited to see this debut in the Mediabase top 50 today, and hope it keeps climbing. Even baby steps are nice to see. I'm fortunate enough to have a Nash Icon station nearby, and it's a breath of fresh air every time this comes on the radio!

"Reckless" is finished. It dropped four spots on Mediabase this week and lost over 90 spins.

If it is truly finished I am disappointed, but I am not surprised. It's had basically the exact chart run we all knew it would based on the fact that this is a Nash Icon single.
Now, bring on single #2!!!!!!! Anyone have any preferences? I would most love to see "That's The Thing About Love" or "Everybody Wants To Be Loved" :)

If it is truly finished I am disappointed It is, I assure you. "Reckless" started last Sunday with 425 spins and lost 92 over the past seven days. That's roughly 20% of its spins -- that signals stations are taking it out of rotation. If it was much higher on the chart then a loss of 92 net spins wouldn't necessarily signal it's through but since "Reckless" is in the 50's, a 92 spins loss is crushing.

I think "That's the Thing About Love" should be next, mostly because it's one of my favorites on the album. Love it!

Hold on people "Reckless" might not be done just yet (it's not going to be making anymore progress) but it appears "Reckless" has gained some spins back according to it's leaders on AllAccess and it looks like Martina will be able to keep her bullet on BB. I still believe this song isn't going to achieve much more especially since Martina hasn't gotten any ads, in who knows how long but it's not quite over yet.

I just noticed the oddest thing... The album version of "Reckless" is slightly different from the single version. I just noticed that in the second line, "For squandering my second chances", on the word "Chances" there is a lot more vibrato on the album version than there is in the single version As far as I can tell that is the only difference though. How weird!

They're done pushing this from what I know. They haven't really "pushed" it since the only stations spinning it are Cumulus owned and a couple independently owned stations. Basically, when Cumulus decides they're done with it, that's when it stops being "pushed." I'm sure they put feelers out to other conglomerates to add this but no luck. I would fully anticipate a new single soon and this month would be unsurprising.

Huh, I was totally hoping for "That's The Thing About Love" as the next single, but "Just Around The Corner" would still be in the top half of the album for me, so I won't complain too much if that is true :) I will wait for more confirmation before starting a thread though.

"Just Around The Corner" would be a decent choice. It's more of a classic 'Martina' sounding song that would fit in on most of her albums, imo (though it's not like radio will really play whatever the single choice is :( ).

This song dropped off of all charts this week. It manages to hold at #57 on Mediabase, but I expect this will be its last week in the top 60 on that chart.
Bring on single #2!!!
