Crazy how similar she sounds to her mom. But that is a GREAT thing.

Her voice is incredible! I can't decide whether I want this or Vince's new album on Vinyl.

"Light Of Day" is great. Such a pleasure hearing it on The Highway.
Her voice is so much like her Mom and she clearly inherited some of her Dad's musical talent as well.

I am just getting a chance to listen to this in full. There is some great stuff on this record. I wouldn't exactly call it the most country thing - but that's okay. She even says that compared to her Mom, Lee Ann is the one that is the more traditional one. But, man...on so many of these songs, it feels like I'm listening to a you Lee Ann. It can be kind of a bittersweet thing, I am sure. Who wants to be compared to their parents all the time, even if they were a huge success? Aubrie is clearly attempting to pave her own path, and it shows...so that is commendable. "Liar Liar" is one of my favorites along with "Sit Here and Cry" and "Losing Ground."

Did this album sell well? What was its chart position? I am listening to it right now. There are some great tracks but also some duds too. Voice is so similar to her mom....

The album debuted at #23 on the country album chart and sold less than 2,000 copies in its debut week, so not really. Per the Record Label/Artist Roster thread, she is close to announcing a major label deal, however, which will be a big boost to her career.

2,000 is very few. Wow! I remember Shania used to move over a million units a week.

Just finished listening to this earlier. Given the mixed critical reception to this album, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I found myself really liking it. My first reaction is that it's frankly surreal how similar she sounds to her mom, but that's a good thing. I feared that the "country garage" sound would be a disaster, but it wound up not bothering me at all, and frankly I found that it fit the lyrics and themes perfectly. My only complaint is that the songwriting felt a bit weak or immature in a few spots, but that's to be expected from a young artist on her debut, and the good by far outweighed the bad. "Magazines" and "Liar Liar" are particular favorites after the first listen.
