I just want more promo. The music is there, but where are the late night performances? More interviews, something. Not complaining, but a soild suggestion🤷🏽♂️ No more interviews sis! All of the ones she’s had this year have been negatively received and has done more harm than good. She’s in a damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t position with the public. To comment on the “hate train”, it definitely has kicked into high gear lately and I noticed it with the OD reaction to the “Boo’ed Up” remix which imo wasn’t even that bad. There is definitely something off, all may be well within the twitter barb community, but the opinions/reactions and feelings towards her outside of that are not good and that’s kinda important. What makes it seem worse is the self inflictions, but she has a few other things working against her outside of her control. The charts are ruled by streaming and she’s not performing strong there probably because of her age, the video views for all the singles released don’t really help, and in general the headlines from major media outlets and more importantly urban blogs which target her audience have taken a negative turn. With anytime a female has been on top for a long time (close to the 10 year mark), the media/public starts to turn and we’ve seen it with most popstars so it’s not exactly something surprising. What frustrates me the most is how perfect the ‘surprise’ album drop would’ve been for her and how they wasted that opportunity after her “hiatus”. The energy when she first emerged this year was a lot better than it is now, and for Nicki I just think she’s the type of artist that is better off letting the music speak for her. She knows she’ll be the “bad guy” but she’s an icon to where she can be like Bey and Rih and not have to promote... Because they’ve chosen this type of release, she might actually need to which is worrying, and she might also need to drop another single before August 10.

Because they’ve chosen this type of release, she might actually need to which is worrying, and she might also need to drop another single before August 10. I agree with a lot of this 1. I think the general feeling is that she's just been around so long that people, aside from her core fans, are ready for something new...hence another female rapper having a big era (not implying that it's only because people are sick of Nicki, but I think there is somewhat of an element to that). I feel like this is a significant piece of where she stands at where she stands today...but Nicki has solidified an amazing career and really only needs to focus on satisfying her core fans at this point. 2. Her "lower charting" songs I think have a part to do in the downturn, as you are correct about her fanbase and streaming and such. This happens to nearly all musicians as time goes on, chart rules change to reflect changing times and the artists that had more success in the traditional methods tend to be "shafted" more in a sense 3. SO AGREE on the surprise album. I literally have no idea why her team thought a surprise album wasn't a good idea. She TOTALLY could have pulled it off. ALL the hype was there and people were so ready for it. Big mistake, if you ask me.

But of course people will still say she's jealous of Cardi's success.

ALL the hype was there and people were so ready for it. Big mistake, if you ask me. It felt like that was their original plan at one point...but then maybe they figured the tour bundle made more sense which it doesn’t imo, but I guess they’re trying to sell two things at once. It would’ve been a lot less work for them, her hype and name would’ve sold it and it wouldn’t really matter how the singles performed. It’s not really that common nowadays for artists of her generation who’ve been around this long to have to do promo. Just imagine the album dropping with that Ganja Burns/“Queen” visual at the same time, or hell even the Chun Li video. Her team seems to always make weird decisions at the start of all her eras but things eventually smooth themselves out once she gets her hits.

Welp. Cardi and the store in question both confirmed this was some bullshit.

I wonder what she has up her sleeve. The album drops in a month, and it doesn't feel like "Nicki season" yet. She has to have a huge collabo on the horizon.

Welp. Cardi and the store in question both confirmed this was some bulls**t. I didn't even need the confirmation I knew right away lol 😂. It's not Nicki style. Not that she isn't generous when it suits her image but she isn't exactly supportive of women in general but more specifically women in her field.

I wonder if they'll drop another single before the album. Bed is definitely more pop-friendly so I'm sure they'll continue to spin it there for at least a bit (although her most recent pop stuff hasn't done as well) and they need to drop the 2nd Urban single, which needs to be a bop like Chun Li!

I heard Nicki at the store today and couldn't figure out what song it was for at least 20 seconds. It was familiar, but I just couldn't place it until her verse ended. It was Swish Swish. I was into it.

Do we think they are going to drop another Urban single before the album? Bed is doing pretty well on Pop, pretty close to Top 20...but as expected it is barely inside the Top 50 on Urban and Chun Li is now in the mid-30's...I feel like releasing another Urban single would be a smart option. Let Bed do what it can do at Pop and have the Urban single begin it's climb close to the album release date

I'm surprised they didn't make "Rich Sex" the next urban single.

I'm surprised they didn't make "Rich Sex" the next urban single. They were probably testing to see how it would perform. It plays enough of XM radio. It’s gotten awfully quiet lately, sis went back into a mini SM hiatus again, probably trying to narrow down the final cuts of the album. And rehearsing for her VMA opening.

The 6ix9ine song she's featured on is the best thing to have come out of the era thus far.

Nicki is taking a social media beating and bad PR reviews. Musically speaking it was the first time listened to the pedophile trash and the song itself is not bad but he he is trash.
