For a lot of people, BE being mentioned wasn't the issue (besides the fact that it felt like Nicki was taking a celebratory moment away from her). It's the throwing shade, subliminal subtweets and coming after her for the "flourishing" comments that came to light. It was obvious Latto wasn't coming from a malicious place. Latto starting getting personal once Nicki went there first, and Latto wasn't even wanting to go public with any of the falling out out of respect for someone she considered an idol.

Boiling this down purely to BE being mentioned glosses over a lot of it.

FWIW, she did initially like a tweet that said she wasn't dissing Latto when she mentioned her after Latto made her tweet, and IMO, the IG Live explained alot.(But shes entitled to feel how she feel).

I feel like social media f**ks up/creates so much that's not even there.(The proof of "subtweets" were anti stan pages creating narratives)

I was following the mess live last night and Latto's mentions were 98% people begging her to go low and bring up Mr. Petty.

I don't get the "you begged for a feature" drag either. Nicki has worked with far smaller names like Bia on songs that had less than 1/10th the success of BE. I gotta be honest it seems to me like she will only work when people are not a threat to become big deals. Hence why she has burned bridges with Megan, Cardi and refused features with Doja. Those three are just too big and she feels threatened somehow...

Hard truth is one day Nicki will stop being a current hitmaker and will have to rely on her legacy. To me at this point I'd say her legacy and impact are secure so I don't get why she seems to be threatened. The 40 year old comment is mean but also sadly true. Past that age only a handful of females kept up the hitmaking rate, and a lot of them like Madonna used features with current hitmakers like Justin Timberlake or Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull like 15 times. Who's gonna ask her for a remix now if she will just post receipts and shade when the tides turn?

I also lol'ed at the "s**t does better when I jump on it after it's already popular". Basically she will only do s**t that's already a hit to secure another #1 or top 10 a la Say So, specially when her remixes never seem to outshadow the originals?

All this mess and she graced blackfisher Jesy Nelson with a feature? Meh.

It sucks that the Roman performance got her seemingly blacklisted from the Grammys but i think dragging Latto into it specially when she privately asked not to be included and alluded to their negative interactions in the past as a reason not to join her in support... specially when Latto needs all the help she can get and getting on the Grammys blacklist will hurt her when she could use the nod somehow, while Nicki's bag is secure in perpetuity either way... meh.

I also feel if she doesn't give you a feature or w/e, but someone else, don't take it to heart, just keep grinding. That seemed to bothered Latto too.

Look love me or hate me I always speak my truth (key word MY) I don't hate anyone enough to lie or fake praise. When Nicki drama broke I didn't keep up just saw a few headlines and said "here she goes with her mess with another female "

Now couple days later having read everything, the exchanges. Nicki didn't say anything wrong when she talked about her song being called pop while in my opinion Mariah Carey song via Biggest Mulatto isn't? She wasn't bashing the girl and she was speaking her mind. Mulatto has thin skin. She started the insults and ofcourse Nicki went off.

Let's remember Big Mulatto was the one who said before BDE energy remix happened that she never heard Fantasy the song she clearly took sample from ( I know Fantasy is an sample) but her version is more Mariah's than Tom Tom Club. Then when pressed by lambs acted shady then only to kiss ass by saying she is a huge Mariah fan and when the reporter asked what songs she couldn't name any.

I just feel having said that Nicki needs to stay out of social media drama no matter what when u always in mess you will be labeled the s**t starter. She is a freaking legend she doesn't need to be going back and forth with someone who doesn't even have two minutes of relevancy yet.

I know Barbs sick of being put on the spot but trust me I would have said thing about my Fav if she was going back and forth on Twitter with 1 album pop girls.

That recorded phone call backfired on Latto because it showed she lied about what Nicki said. It also just made it seem like she has been secretly plotting this whole time. Acting obtuse and innocent on the phone because she knew she was recording. Let that have been Nicki secretly recording conversations, claiming someone said something and then releasing the conversation and there would be 1000 more think pieces in here. She also grasped at straws desperately trying to make those tweets about her. How can you be upset that Nicki has been supposedly subtweeting you since March but you were using her lyrics as captions and singing every word during her vma performance like a fan?. Had Nicki accepted her feature request, we wouldn’t be here. That’s always the root issue. These girls feel entitled to features and hand outs from Nicki. Anytime she gives a girl a feature, another female rapper(S) feels a way and starts drama on twitter.

Nicki said nothing wrong about BE and SPG. She also used Drake’s song as an example. There clearly was no malicious intent. And if people watched the whole live she stated that more than once and shouted out all female rappers. Things went left when Latto agreed with her in private but went to the timeline to play victim like these girls always do.

I’m personally over female rap drama and wish Nicki would stop wrestling with pigs. But Latto was wrong.

I can certainly speak for myself and the barbz on here who have voiced frustrations with Nicki on numerous occasions. Going back years. I’m waiting for the day people see it from all sides sometimes and look at things objectively and fairly with Nicki. Instead of always running straight to the “old, mean and bitter” narrative. While ignoring everything else.

Hello! Noone is saying she's always the victim, but don't make it like she always has ill intent either. And don't act like some of the girls could be opportunistic at times, including Latto. There was nothing wrong with using BE as an example(there were other examples too if you watched the live), regardless of what they had going on BTS.

(So much "insecurity" yet , she has the most collabs with female rappers🤔.)

Now the name calling was unwarranted on BOTH ends, but the ageism and mentioning family should've never happened either. Phone calls shouldn't be recorded either but thats also. But it's done, and we move on. Agree to disagree.
