ERASURE’S Andy Bell releases his debut solo single on September 26. Crazy is taken from the singer’s debut solo album, Electric Blue, released on October 3. I just got a hold of the "Cicada Vocal Remix" of the song and it sounds great! I love the remix by Vince Clarke (the other half of Erasure). It's vintage Vince complete with synth sounds he's been using since Depeche & Yazoo. Ironically better than anything on the last Erasure album.

Yeah, this is so good ... I play that Cicada Vocal Mix non stop!
I can't wait to get a hold of more mixes ... Does that Vince Clark mix sound a lot like other Erasure stuff?

This is great - the best stuff he's done since Erasure's "Cowboy" CD in 1997.

Wow, that's pretty bad! I was hoping for a Top 10 debut! It sort of is. But look on the bright side: at least it charted on the top 40. :)

It might rebound. Try to be optimistic; Erasure is pretty big in the UK and Europe in general. ;)

the cicada vocal really works for me... heck! even the original is hot... i thought vince clarke would be more creative in his remix but it pretty much sounds like an extended version of the original. it does sound a lot like his yazoo days tho. i think this song isn't picking up because of the lack of support from the record execs... shame. :(

Does anyone know why Andy Bell is going solo? Why did they just make this another Erasure album?

There's no way this will climb next week. and this might explain the lack of the record company's support... what was their last number one? was it "always"?? (gee! that seems like a lifetime ago! LOL.) i still love their work tho... always have. ever since i heard the "innocents" album way back in '88. (i still listen to those old "chains of love" mixes. LOL.)
