Sammy is another '90s artist I regard as consistently solid. I remember when I first started building my music collection around 2006, one of my first acquisitions was his The Definitive Collection, which contained virtually all of his singles, and I remember finding it eminently listenable.
TOP (not really in any order) Yard Sale Snow White Rose of Arlington Southbound Honky Tonk America Don't Go Near the Water Queen of My Double Wide Trailer Haunted Heart Third Rate Romance Politics Religion and Her Love of My Life (I like it) Fit to be Tied Down I Can't Reach Her Anymore Cadillac Style National Workin' Woman's Holiday She Don't Know She's Beautiful One Day Left to Live
BOTTOM Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans On (don't like the original and don't like the unnecessary cover)

The only thing I remember about NWWH was that the ladies in the video wore aprons a lot like the ones worn by the workers in my town's very short lived Colombo yogurt shop.
I remember Walk/Crawl because of the line about being shoe-top tall. Southbound's the one I don't remember as a single, but it's a Mac McAnally song so of course I'm gonna love it.

Yard Sale sounds like a stone cold country song that George Jones would have done. But the image of a yard sale and how Sammy sings it is ust moving. Was this ever a single?
"I Can't Reach Her Anymore" is also devstating, the heartbreak, the pain in Sammy's voice, wow! A wow song that was overlooked.

Peaked at #17 on Billboard, and I believe top 15 on R&R, although peaks in the early to mid 90's I'm unfamiliar with compared to 2000's peaks.

Sammy is certainly one of those artists that I grew up with on CMT. I'll always remember his early videos for "Cadillac Style," "Anywhere But Here," and "Haunted Heart." Also, I can never forget his saddle bag. Some of you may know what I'm talking about lol. Anyways, here's a rough top/bottom:
Top: 1. One Day Left To Live 2. Meant To Be 3. Matches 4. Fit To Be Tied Down 5. Politics, Religion and Her 6. Love Of My Life (nostalgic song for me) 7. Vidalia 8. Honky Tonk America 9. Haunted Heart (although this was my favorite song of his growing up) 10. Anywhere But Here
Bottom: 1. Don't Go Near The Water 2. National Working Woman's Holiday 3. Queen of My Double Wide Trailer 4. She Don't Know She's Beautiful (overplayed even to this day)

I included Southbound on my list and am glad that many others have too. It's one of those really neat songs that leaves you wanting to hear the rest of the story. It seems like it tells you just enough to get a general idea and get you interested. The music is good - interesting and unusual, and Sammy's voice is great on it.

"Meant To Be" will always be my favorite Sammy song hands down. I still remember the music video and if I recall correctly, he ended up marrying the girl in the video in real life or dating her at least. If I'm not mistaken she is also in the video for "Love Of My Life."
