The return of country music to the San Francisco/San Jose metro area didn't last very long. From Country Aircheck:
San Francisco had long been one of the only major markets without a successful country music station, and apparently they are once again without a country station on the radio dial.
Edit: Apparently the country format is now airing on the 107.7 HD frequency (the HD2 signal for Classic Rock sister KSAN). From AllAccess:
Apparently the KSJO 92.3 frequency has flipped to a Bollywood Music format. Featuring music and artists from the Bollywood genre, "Bolly 92.3" is the first of its kind in the United States.
BREAKING NEWS
» KSJO/San Jose Flips Out: No one is commenting officially, but Cumulus' KSJO (Nash FM)/San Jose has flipped from the Country format less than two years after the company made it part of its Nash brand (Breaking News 5/26/14). The move follows the departure of PD Mac Daniels for KPLX & KSCS/Dallas (Breaking News 2/2). No word on how the change has affected other staff. More later in Country Aircheck Today (3/1).

CUMULUS MEDIA Country KSJO (NASH FM)/SAN JOSE is no longer on its 92.3 signal, and has been moved to the HD2 signal for Classic Rock sister KSAN (107.7 THE BONE).
The station posted to its FACEBOOK page, "Good morning everyone! We've switched our frequency to the HD radio dial! You can now find NASH at 107.7HD." Meanwhile on 92.3FM, the music mix is apparently an international one, branded “92.3 FM THE UNIVERSAL FM.”
CUMULUS released this statement regarding the change, "CUMULUS MEDIA, INC has chosen not to exercise its option to buy station KSJO-FM in SAN JOSE, CA, and, as a result, will be shutting off our KSJO broadcast signal on MARCH 1st, 2016 when the station's operation returns to its owner, UNIVERSAL MEDIA. In mid-2014, CUMULUS began operating the station on a test basis under its NASH Country brand, but has since concluded that it did not fit strategically based on CUMULUS' existing geographic footprint in the region. This decision has no impact on CUMULUS' commitment to its NASH brand nationally."
